The Monk's Philippine Experience

Does anyone have this? I saw it advertised in some In Stroke or similar magazine at the pool hall, looked interesting so I bought the electronic copy.

But once I paid for it via Paypal, nothing popped up, wasn't redirected on his website, no indication of how to actually receive the download. I thought maybe I would get an email or something, nothing and it's been 10 days.

Have left several messages and emails, nothing. I'll get my money back by logging a Paypal case, not too worried about that, but I would rather get the material and check it out.

Anyone else have experiences with this or the other electronic content on his site?

Monk

If memory serves, it seems someone has hijacked the Monk's email or something, and has ripped off others, as well. Maybe someone else can shine some light. Good luck.

I'm honestly baffled. There are 2 monk sites out there.
http://www.themonk.com/ seems legit, is fairly professional and nice looking, offers his usual books.

http://www.monkbilliardacademy.net/ Is horrible looking, like it was made by children. Children from the year 1996.

I'm guessing he has an old site and a new site, and all the books aren't yet available on the new site.

Anyway: After you do paypal, it redirects you to a link of the seller's choosing. It might be a website, but it also might be a link to a file such as a PDF or Ebook.

Sometimes when you get linked to a file, your browser just quietly downloads it without really popping anything up.

In chrome and firefox, if you press ctrl+J on the keyboard, you'll see your most recent downloads. See if anything listed there has 'monk' or 'phillipine' in the title, or is a .PDF file. I think this shortcut also works in newer internet explorer... give it a try.

If none of your recent downloads list it, maybe it redirected to a page but you never got there for some reason... the website seems old and badly designed, so maybe they plugged in the wrong link and you got redirected to a page that doesn't exist.

Or maybe you got sent to a page that modern browsers no longer view. Maybe the redirect page was a popup, and a lot of browsers block those automatically.

Your best bet is to login to paypal and then click "My Account", you'll see a place for your recent activity. If you see the monk purchase in the list, click the blue "Details" link to get a phone number and/or email address where you can ask them where you can get this file.

Thanks for the info. I thought the website was poorly designed as well, but apparently he has several legitimate (as far as I can tell) websites and ventures.

I will recheck my downloads, I was actually thinking even though I was at home that something somehow got blocked, but trying to reach him through voicemail or email has not worked for the last week.

Oddly, this e-book was advertised in a magazine, which may not mean much but was assuming that it was legit because of that, or the imposter has big ones...

Thanks,
Scott

EDIT: Was contacted by Tim (the Monk), apparently he's been in the Philippines and in storms and with limited connectivity. So it took a little while, I guess the download required some manual intervention by him, but I did receive it. Looks to have some decent practice patterns, something new to work on with objective goals to measure.
