...this guy will be IMO. Some of you may have heard of Randy Mobley, many of you may not have, but I believe his name will be in a class with the top cuemakers in the business very soon.

While visiting Ron Haley's shop a few months ago, Ron recommended I contact Randy. Ron was very, very complimentary of Randy's work and capabilities. Ron showed me some pictures that Randy had sent to him and explained what was going on in each cue. It was evident Randy was doing some phenomenal work. Randy reminds me a lot of Ron and John Showman, to whom Randy is good Friends, as he builds cue in a very traditional fashion with a twist, and his attentional to detail is unmistakable.

Randy is sort of in the "mad scientist" cuemaker category when it comes to cue construction and playability. He certainly goes over my head a bit when we are discussing his techniques and methods.

Here are the first two cues, of what I hope will be many, that Randy sent to me and I received on Fri. From his veneer work, to the finish, to the fancy ivory engraved joint caps, to the balance of these cues, I am completely impressed with his work. I am honored to represent Randy and his cues, and thank Ron Haley for bringing Randy and I together.

Now for the cues...Randy likes to name his cues, and the two below were appropriately named the "Neon Titilist" and the "Afterburner". The "Neon Titlist" features 13 veneers!!! (counting the paper veneers). And Pheasant Wood in the points and butt sleeve. The "Afterburner" features mitered boxes with Ivory and 6 veneers including a 1/16" black veneer on the outside of the points. All white in this cue is Ivory. Both cues have been SOLD

If you are interested in ordering a Mobley Custom Cue please contact me.

I have also included some additional pics so you can see the detail in Randy's work.

Super looking cues. I hit a few balls with a very plain Mobley back in about 2001. The hit was very impressive. In 2002 I predicted greatness for Mr. Mobley on the old RSB forum. It looks like he is on his way... without a doubt.

Hey jamie,,,,,,,

man,,,you continue to out do yourself !!

Way to go with this great new line of cues !!

Hits good?

Hey Jamie,
The work looks just simply breath taking... Let's get down to what really matters... How does it hit? You have played with every single cue there is out there, you should have a good idea :)

Let me just say this Tony...do you think a cuemaker who puts this much detail work into a cue would put out a product that does not play well?

Did you notice that all the cues I posted had Straight-Grained Maple forearms? That should be the first clue to Randy's approach on playability.

Randy's cue plays great...he's one of the few cue builders that are under rated by the market. It's been a while since I used to owned a few of his cues and his work have always been top notch....still have a predator shaft that he converted. Straight grain forearm are the nuts for playability along with shafts as well.

Regards,
Duc.

Don't get me wrong Jamie... I know that the only thing you sell are top notch cues and you do not deal with nothing but quality...
I was just trying to push you on describing the hit and playability of his cues.

Is this the Randy from Florida. If so then there is something in the water the cuemakers are drinking down there.

It is my understanding that he will no longer take orders directly. I'm sure Jamie will know for sure. I know that some cuemakers don't really care for dealing with people , taking deposits ect, and instead perfer to spend their time making cues.

I feel personally that most makers would benifit from a setup such as this.

Outof all the cuemakers I have personally delt with only Gina (Ernie) had a very professional order form and approch . Thats not to say that some of the makers informal approch didn't get me a great cue but it was just that informal, non-binding, no time line, no exact itemized breakdown of the price.

I appreciate the insight, I know there are one or two cuemakers out there that don't want to take orders.

While I understand your viewpoint on this topic, I respectfully disagree, but will not clog this thread with my beliefs.

Good luck with the sale.

Mobley Cues

Hey Jamie. As soon as I saw this post, I dug out my old Mobley for a nice reminiscent spin. It hits as good as it did in 1998 when I got it. The hit is similar to my Bluegrass. Those are some nice cues you have listed!

Too bad my new cue budget is on the "trades only" basis. I guess I'd better move some cues in the next couple weeks before Valley Forge. I look forward to seeing you there.

I saw your cues last week when I ran into randy at the local poolroom. They were very nice.He still hadn`t completely finnished them when I saw them.Good to see what the final work looked like.Randy`s work is very good and it is done right. You definetly get a well made cue and will not be disapointed.goodluck on your sale of these fine cues.

I just got an awesome 6point hoppe butt cap 3long 3short w/veneers. The cue is simply breathtaking and Randy's cue plays fantastic. Ron and John are good friends of his. Not bad company folks. By the way i like these cues also, good luck with your sale, Bob
