The OB-1 Shaft

What a fun shaft this OB-1 is. If there is any draw back to it I find myself running out to the 6-ball on the ghost with no hard position to solve or shots to make to run out. I'll be on like the 6-ball and notice the 9-ball by a pocket and I'll not even try to make the 6. I'll use it to go 3 or 4 rails to make the 9. I also find myself sometimes having position on the next ball 2 foot away and instead I'll juice the QB and go 3 or 4 rail position to get to the same place. I've already had $200 worth of fun with it. It's almost like cheating. Johnnyt

Try an ob1 cut down to 12.25. I constantly go back and fourth between that shaft and an ob2 depending on how i'm feeling that day and how the table is playing. Also i recommend trying a dudley tip from muellers. I havent found a reason to cut it off yet. Its been on the longest out of snipers, kamui blacks and wizards...

If I had a tip that played better than the one that came with it I'd loose my cookies. Johnnyt

I constantly had problems with the kamui black and sniper tips glazing over. I cut the kamuii off with half of the tip left because i got tired of scuffing or picking after every game. Maybe its playing style, don't really know, but its not an issue now. A friend of mine used my cue the other night, the response was " Wow, now i know how you get all that spin on the ball". Not an issue with the dudleys. They are cheap. Best practice is to shape them, break with the cue and reshape for a few games.

BTW: APA 9 ball league was tonight, started off with the ob2 shaft on, switched to the ob1. Was dead ass tired so the cuts where off a touch, fixed that by switching shafts. 15-5 win.
