I was just wasting time (as usual) troling on AZ. Did a search on something that yielded a thread on the best drunk pool players. Read about a guy nicknamed "Peru Paul" As a drinker and an Indiana native (grew up in a town 15 miles from Peru) I had to know more. Did a search on Peru Paul and found this post, circa 2004, from DCP. Might this be the origin of his quest for stringing together 9 ball racks?

sometimes i think i might just completely quit AZ Billiards for all the unwarranted flak that i receive...........:(

Wow!!!!!!! Thats a name I aint heard for several years now. I used to play in local tourneys with him. A quick true story for ya.

On quite a few occasions, the room owner for these weekly tourneys, would get quite active and liked to buy Peru Paul. His real name was paul Bowman, no relation to Jesse Bowman, as far I know. Anyhow, when he would buy him in the calcutta, he would buy him drinks the entire time he was playing. He didn't really need them as he was always pretty hammered when he walked in before the tourney started. The drunker he got, the better he shot, and he could put em down with the best of em. His drink of choice was Crown and Coke.

I watched him play, and played against him many times. He was a very, very, good small table player. Sadly he died a few years ago from cancer, if I aint mistaken. I wish he was still around, because he definitey was something to watch play.

I didn't mean to give flak. It just surprised me to find this very old thread on running 9 ball racks, the same topic that has been discussed this week. I think maybe it does have something to do with something.

Unwarranted? You bring it on all yourself! If you would change your way of thinking then maybe people would be a lot more nice to you. However you keep in your narrow mindset and people can't help but give you flak! I am waiting until someone takes you up on your offer to play at your house, and you post how you lost because of all the bad rolls that you got!

DCP, when one guy gives you flak it's maybe a jerk giving you unwarranted flak. When 5 guys do it, maybe it's a conspiracy.

When something like 20 guys give you shit, you might have to consider that you're doing something to warrant it =o

This is coming from someone who replies to your threads and wants to see you improve, remember.
