The Outlook For Houston?

I have been away from the game for quite a while. Starting playing again at home recently. I have one friend or two over to play straight pool and 8 ball. The other day I got to thinking about pool rooms around the Houston. So here are my questions: how many of the better rooms in Houston are going to survive Covid? Also who are some of the better players that live in Houston? Just before Covid which rooms hosted a steady weekly tournament?

All the big name rooms are open and running tournaments

Pros like alex and roberto and Ochoa , tommy , Ernesto are seen playing

Apa league is operating
Vnea league is about to be restarting,

Bars are doing the tournaments again, some even doing more than before with multiple through the week

Carom rooms are still doing well

What is your favorite carom room? When things settle down I want to find a room to start playing carom again.

That would be us bida, they held nationals there a yr ago or two,

They have the big tables and small ones playing 3c to straight rail and 1 cushion
Alot of action too, not a pool table in the house, 11 or 12 heated 3c tables and several 9fters

Good to see you posting again

For whatever reason, pool has ran it's course in Houston, there used to be slicks everywhere other block in southwest, but they all closed down. There isn't a lot of options in southwest Houston. 45 south has maybe two, legends and fast eddies... even all the fox and hound with pool closed up shop... all gone like 8 years ago and it wasn't due to covid.. a lot of barney's closed up shop too..
