Just because you bolt the rails on the slate, that don't mean your rails are going to line up straight, especially in the side pockets, if you CAN'T adjust the rails left and right to center the side pockets of the rails with the side pocket slate shelf. And guess what, it don't even matter if you bought rebuilt rails from Mark Gregory, this also includes the Anniversaries and Centennial's too. If when you have the slate stripped down, you don't correct the rail bolt alignment with the rails, you're never going to be able to adjust them to fit. I marked out the centerline of all 18 rail bolt holes on this GC1 slate, keep in mind, it only takes 1 rail bolt hole not drilled center to throw the whole rails out of alignment. Look at the alignment marks in relation to the bolt holes which are only 5/8" yet the rail bolt is 3/8" passing through to the bolt hole into the bottom of the rails. These are just a few to show you what I mean.
