The Predator BK2 is like Dynamite in Your Hands...

I got my Predator BK2 last week and I have to admit that the Predator BK2 hits like dynamite. Those balls really explode. In my 9 ball match, I made 3 balls on the break at least 3 times, which helped me win one of my matches and I was making (at least 1 or 2) balls on every break. Although the Predator BK2 has a Phenolic tip, it really doesn't have the same (extremely hard) feel that the Stinger or Sledgehammer has (I've tried both). You don't get that "ting" sound or feel that the other Phenolic tips produce. I'm not sure how they did it, but the hit really feels like you have a regular leather hard tip on it. I honest and truly love my Predator BK2 cue. And feel it was a worthwhile purchase. The price of the Predator BK2 cue is the same as the original BK cue. $300 for the no wrap and $316 for the Linen wrap.

So who else has gotten one and what do you think?

Mine's en route. Tracking says I'll have it on Wednesday. I'll post again after I have had a chance to hit some racks with it.

Okay, I will ...

Everyone is being nice, so I will go ahead and ask.
What made you select the BK2, just a break stick,
when you could have got an XBreaker, that is both
a break stick and jump stick, for the same money.
Most players I know, want the biggest bang for the
buck.

If what you say is true then why isn't everyone breaking/jumping with an Xbreaker? They make 31 flavors of ice cream for a reason.

Well ...

That is true ... lol and you made your point ... but in reply,
that can only make so many Xbreakers a month Perhaps
the BK2 is improved, but from what I have seen and tried
of the original BK, I was not impressed with its breaking
power.

Maybe due to league play, some leagues (APA) do not allow the use of jump cues, making it useless for league matches.

I personally would buy a jump break anyway for matches non league related and just use it full size when on league realted matches.

Something about Predator break cues I just dont like though, Im not saying they are bad or anything, just I cant believe the hype. Especailly with the X breaker and Jericho Stingers out there in the same price range, and with the J and J phenolic under $100 dollars which breaks a ton as well.

I also agree with snapshot on the break of the bk1, I was not impressed and could not see a difference between my leather tip players jump break.

Scott - In my case, I already have a Lucasi Jump Stick so I don't need/want a jump/break.

I use a BK1 today and am very happy with it... except for the facts that it fell once on a very hard surface and the joint area on the butt side chipped away considerably (cosmetic only, the hit was not affected)... and I twice gouged the shaft when I overstroked on a bar box... and had to sand out the shaft quite a bit... thereby trimming down the break stick taper somewhat.

Bk2

I have owned my bk2 for a week now and it rocks! It breaks way better then the sledgehammer. I like the shaft way better the sledghammer, it's thinner without looking any POP. The tip is great too, not the loud ping you'd expect.

Why have a bk2 and not a jump break? I'll tell you. My jump cue is the best i've ever uses. It has a 14mm tip with almost no taper. I feel this provides the best jump available. But a break cue with 14mm tip and no taper wouldn't work for me at all.

The price of the X-Breaker just went up, so it's not "quite" the same money but you are right it's definitely in the same ball park.
