The RACK in Detroit

Everyone has heard about THE RACK in Detroit in its heydays, but what I have never heard is about how it started and when, and finally when did it close and why?

I assume that this was a private club, that kinda grew because of all the action.

I have heard tons of stories about various folks playing there for more money than anywhere ever, but as story tellers, most pool players don't tell how it finally came to an end.

I have been on Youtube quite a bit looking at Detroit, or what's left of it, from the corruptions, unions, liberal policies, drugs, gangs, hell you name it.

I did hear a bit of good news that in Downtown Detroit, some businesses are coming to set up their headquarters. Why? That's another discussion.

So who knows the ends (beginning of and end of) THE RACK?

The Rack closed in 1986.

I'm going through the other thread and just made it to page 10. I don't really post much but have been lurking on here for several years and this is by far the best read I've found yet. I can't wait to pick up on this later. Thanks to all the contributors!
