You get to use this place to say what you want just like I do
Looks who's talking about contributing in a meaningful way, men better than women
Lmao

Just this one. Sometimes I go by Joe_Jaguar but only when I have nothing useful to say
I get that my original post is not PC and is controversial. Doesn't make it not true.
Interesting. Good point. That might be it but I'm not an expert to further comment. On second thought testosterone levels drop as one ages so Efren would have been getting killed by 20 year old bar players if that was the case.
Well, are you talking about Marilyn Monroe, or Rosie O'Donnell? Makes somewhat of a difference, by your statement.
Break strength...or lack there of...has nothing to do with at least one game...One Pocket and yet no women are anywhere near the top in that game either. If you gave the best women ball in hand after their break...regardless of a ball being made...they still couldn't compete with the top level men. Even if you argue that not as many women play pool...it still wouldn't explain why not "one" has ever been able to compete with the top male players. I've given this a lot of thought...and it can't be eyesight...muscle memory...brain power...physical size...etc. There should be at least a few women players in the world who can compete with the best men...but there just aren't. So it is a mystery...yet to be explained.
Same in 3 cushion, no strength needed but the best woman player only has averages of 1.5max
While men have games with averages of 2.5,4, 5,
Nothing at all to do with physical strength
Women don't have a need to dominate? You have not met my wife then.I'd have to agree with Scott, what a knowledgeable post.
You know this got me thinking. I believe I was slightly wrong in my original post. I think the real reason is this:
Men feel the need to dominate. Some show it some don't but all desire to be dominant.
Women don't have that need. Some are very driven but it's not in their DNA to go to war. Pool is war.
( beneath_the_sur and Joe_Jaguar didn't mean to hurt your feelings if I did I apologize. I'm rarely on this site but when I am this is the only username I use. I'm genuinely interested in this topic and just trying to figure it out with your guys help. Also men are obviously not better than women that would be a ridiculous and sexist statement and an insult to women. The sexes are just different. In the game of pool men tend to win more often, we're just trying to figure out why.)
I don't see any anatomical reason why men would have more 'quick twitch' muscle fibers in their arms than women, especially since the number of quick twitch muscles is not dependent on how strong you are. I suggest that in time, women will learn how to swing the cue better, and be breaking on a par with the men.

Physical strength has nothing to do with it. If it did bodybuilders would be making all the balls on the break.
Men work hard on their game to improve relationships with people. That's what drives them, it's not the money. If they work ridiculously hard they have a chance to be liked, respected, admired and maybe even desired by the opposite sex.
Women don't need to work hard to be liked, respected, admired and desired- all they have to do is walk in the room.
Tell me I'm wrong
more men choose to play.
It is all about taking a Educated Risk -
Champion rated males execute it the best -
The women go conservative in the same spot -
Girls will duck and the dudes pull the trigger -
game here and a game there you will be left in the dust -
Do you take the bank to get out or do you go for the safe -- it's a tough spot to be in
bill
Chopdoc? Do you think testosterone has an influence on focus or "will to win"?
It has to do with our biological engineering. Men have always been the hunter. Hunting requires complete focus for the task. If they get distracted, no meat in the fire. While the men were hunting, the women were managing the camp. This requires multi-tasking, watching the kids, cooking the meat, cleaning the camp etc. While the men are focusing on that one crucial shot, the women are focusing on the shot plus their environment. It is just the way our brains are wired.
We've all seen the theories but nobody has gotten to the bottom of it. Until now
