Dick just sent me pics of the finale :)
I have to admit that it turned out perfect and I can't wait to get my hands on it.

Here is a link to pics of the Davis blank from start to almost finish

Dick was great to work with. I enjoyed just calling him up to shoot the breeze and see how he was doing more than how close my cue was coming to completion. I remember laughing when he was being apologetic about the cue taking longer than he expected because I said, "Heck I'm thinking about sending another blank."

Is the cue still full/splice? Most cue makers cut the Davis unless spef.

please try the Davis cue - use ebony for the front- Use Jerry -R- Ivory joint Radial Pin. Give the non capped Ivory ferrule a try??? Yours looks great. Mine is already chipped with the Willie Hoppe style -no bumper. But turtle wax clear coat works great for any chip!!! (or the 3-m clear coat). The Pool hall has carpet on cement.Mark

Dam sweet man .. I have too see it when you get it ..

Thanks
I should have it in my hands by the time I finally get off work. Of course I have to work overtime this week so I won't be going to practice till Saturday, but I might be feeling a sick day :)

I had John Davis splice in a maple handle and that is the way it stayed. This one also has a bumper.

I've been thinking of ordering a Prather blank next. That one will be a long spliced rosewood into BEM, or curly maple with the same veneers as this one. I'm feeling a wrapless Hoppe this time, but that won't even begin until next year.
