the rock ?

So okay.Do you guys feel that if a cue ball that has worn down smaller plays better or worse? And further more do you guys feel that we should play with one specific ball? This is just a question to see how other players feel

I happen to agree with you! Most good pool halls have good tournament sets of aramith balls. I would try to go to a place that has good balls, or you can do what I do and buy your own set and take it with you.

There is nothing wrong with wanting to practice with the same balls they use in the us open and other big events. I believe the only way to achieve a high level of pool in these events is by practicing with the same conditions you would find at those events.....good luck !

Thank you guys.I agree with the shrinking ball theory.Right on, if given a choice I like to play with the measles ball. I think I like that ball best IMO.I think just for my self I would like to see the rooms that I play in choose one set of balls and one cue ball no matter which one it is.To me it just makes sense. I don't worry to much about conditions.I'm really not a nit I just play my game. I was just talking about something I noticed.I thought this would be a worthy topic of discussion .

jim jones...The cure for that is just to play on your own table. Then you can be sure of what CB and conditions you play under. That, however, will limit your exposure to different playing conditions (including CB's), and limit your ability to play well no matter what. While it may be a topic for discussion, don't expect others to go along with what it, in reality, an absurd concept. Poolroom owners will never have the same tables (let alone table conditions), the same CB's (although red circle are more prevalent in good poolrooms), and you should realize it will never happen in any of our lifetimes. Pool is what it is.

I would love to have only three balls to use. Our hall has the worst balls. All the sets are mixed up with different ball weights. There are a few blue dots and red circles, but at least have the racks have bar box rocks of two different sizes. It sucks! [APA] It really takes down the skill leverage of the better player and gives the bangers a win advantage / the handicap is distorted at that point IMHO.

That stinks I feel for you Leagueshirts.I had to play in a area in the south that the playing conditions were really bad I feel you.all you can do is play your best. So I guess you are on the same page I'm on It would be nice that were ever you went to play it would be nice to play with one standard set of balls.
