Congratulations to Johnny Archer, who came out of the loser's bracket to win the Western Canadian Open. With big victories over Dan Louie, Ralf Souqet, and Alex Pagualayan in the final, not only did he blow my system all to hell, he came through for Mike Howerton who stood behind Johnny all the way. After Souquet lost to Pagaualayan, I stuck with him, hoping he could get past Archer as he did earlier in the tournament. Knowing Alex would get cold sitting and waiting, I knew whoever came out of the LB would have the advantage. Johnny whipped through Louie and Souquet with a vengeance, leaving me with one statement:
"Mike was right. Johnny Archer is playing like Johnny Archer again."
