The Self-Confidence of Billy Thorpe

Great post JAM and story PT. Billy has always been that genuine, even as a 12 year in the pool rooms. With the mentorship of Shane, Billy could go all the way. The thing about Billy that separates him in my eyes, he seems to really love the game. He lights up like a school kid when he is at the table or sees one of his idols run out. At the derby you will see him excited sweating matches and action, just like all of us pool geeks.

That is cool. He is right up there with them on skill level and he still idolizes them in the same way he always did. I wish I could have his skill and confidence on the pool table. Oh, and love for the game.

Though still very young, Billy is a very experienced player. He is already used to playing in big spots. He played Albin Ouschan at the US Open while Albin was World 9-ball Champion and lost a hard-fought double hill match. Billy can, and has, held his own with the best. Sure hope he's on Team USA.

That is really cool. He almost beat the reigning world champion twice, at the US Open . That is strong.
