Which event? At Oscar's place, the only table in the tournament room with 4" pockets is the #1 table, the rest are 4 1/2". I believe they switched the #1 table with #4 for the tournament because that's the streaming table. Unless they changed them after the event. The Gold Crowns in the rear of the main room are sub 4 1/2". I'll try to remember to take some pictures the next time I'm there.

Yeah, I don't exactly think smaller pockets are a big factor in improving accuracy, I believe the coordination is mainly due to diligent repetition. It is true that after shooting a bit on a tighter pockets I sharpen up a bit, the smaller pockets enforce diligence.

The effects I am talking about occur after weeks or months on tight pocketed tables. After being stuck on a project and just playing on tight tables, I noticed I wasn't as dominant as usual playing on the big pocketed tables when I got back home. I ran it down to my strategy sucking. Patterns I had been running without a second glance intimidated me now. The same with tough shots. Some I was rejecting in favor of a safety were shots I would normally jump all over.

Talking about 3/8" to a half inch difference in pocket size. Friendly mouths on the wide pockets too. They were designed to eat lots of quarters.

I just needed to practice or play 20-30% of the time on the big pockets. No big deal. It was the glory days. The oil fields and petro-chem industry were booming. They had a couple companies that paid off on Tuesdays. a bunch paid on Wednesdays and Thursdays, even more on Fridays which was the biggest pay day then some on Saturdays. Everywhere you went somebody had just cashed a payroll check and had yankee dollars in their pockets, none of the ATM crap so popular today either. After a good evening I might have money in every pocket and my boots. My mom came to visit one Saturday morning. She noticed a trail of money from my easy chair to my bed. "Forgot to empty my boots before I took them off." I believed in spreading my money around for comfort and safety. I was just fifteen when three guys tried to roll me. I tuned whenever I got a chance on the slower evenings, wagered on the big pockets on the busier nights. I read there was a similar feeding frenzy when fracking kicked off in a big way a few years back. Fracking had been around for decades but it is really a screwed up thing to do. When the dollars get right everything else gets pushed aside though. I was an easy forty years too old when fracking kicked off. Nice to daydream but long past my time.

Yeah, I wish a lot of these disagreements didn't spiral into insults. It's fun hearing different ideas and if we find them lacking in value, we can scroll past. I get the other to type nasty stuff but hopefully I can remember to scroll instead of respond.
