The trend of conceding a match

Another aspect of this is what is defined as a "gimme" can be different from player to player. It can really get in your head when you are down on the last ball and wondering "this seems like it should be a gimme, is he gonna give it to me? Not this time? Well, guess i'll shoot"

This thought can sometimes be the catalyst for missing a shot that would not normally be missed if the player maintained focus.

This is a well known sharking move in Golf, where conceding putts in certain types of games is common.

The shark goes like this: At the beginning of the round you concede a bunch of relatively long final putts. Then at critical moments, when your opponent expects you to concede the putt you make him putt it. This will be his first putt under pressure, he will not have had the earlier lesser pressure putts to prepare for it.

I've seen / had this happen many many times. It is indeed a well known sharking move ( pool ). I've definitely had people TRY this move on me and I don't mind it, I actually love it when they do because it gives me a great chance to turn it around and allows me to pull a reverse move and more often than not sends them on full tilt and more than once has effected the outcome of the set.

Once I see that is what they are trying to do that to me, I will set up on the shot for the 9 and stroke and stroke and stroke. Then I will get up and chalk up nice and good. Repeat process a good 2,3, or 4 times. All together taking about a minute and a half to two minutes, maybe more. Then and only then I will fire the ball in dead center pocket 1000 mph while power drawing the rock 4 rails.

I absolutely am not the " sharking " kinda player but see no problem whatsoever turning a move around on someone given the chance if they are the one trying to pull one on you first. As someone else said earlier this kinda thing is truly petty. IMO, if you do not have the mental toughness and would let something like this get to you then you probably shouldn't be in action at all. I'd even extend that to any kind of competitive pool ( tournaments ).

Ever miss the shot after they concede? Since it was shot and missed I guess the other player would be shooting.

Yes, I didn't even try to make it when he jumps up and says "I can't believe it he missed"!!!. Joe Salazar was sitting there and came to my defense that I had not even aimed at the ball just shoved the cue ball. While this guy acted like he was being cheated he didn't want to play any more and left. This was a zillion years ago but I never forgot and never did it again. Once the shot is conceded I walk away.

I like your idea, but applying the "power draw", I would probably miss.....

It's actually pretty funny watching themy watch the cue ball zooming all over table PRAYING that it scratches lol. The ABSOLUTE best is when doing this and the cue ball is making a bee line towards the corner pocket and it hits the tit and rattles around a bit --- BUT STAYS UP!!! . I've had a couple people snap their own cues when this happens lol
