So I played the weekly tournament again tonight, I was returning as the defending champion. I went thru the whole thing undefeated again, and in the finals I was spotting my opponent 2 games to 7 and he was shooting very well. He had me down 6-1 and I clawed back to make it double hill. In the final game I came up dry on the break and he made a great shot on the one, but hooked himself behind the 6-ball. He was so frustrated because he made a tough shot to get to the 2-ball, and if he had rolled an inch further he would have had a fairly easy 2-9 combo. He takes a minute to line up the kick, and he hits it picture-perfect, kicking off the rail sending the 2 into the 9 and making it. I was about to get up and shake his hand, but the cueball kept rolling, and suddenly this happened:

)END
The cueball drifted off 2 rails and barely dropped into the side pocket. I couldn't believe it, he hit that kick so good and he got rewarded with such an unlucky scratch, and at hill-hill!! I took ball in hand and ran out for the win. Before I got down to shoot the 9 I was actually contemplating missing it on purpose because I glanced over at the guy and he was just steaming, I knew he wanted to win so badly, and he had me down 6-1 before I came back. I needed the money so of course I made the 9, but I really have to say that scratching like that after making such a great shot at hill-hill is the worst roll I've ever seen. Oh well
