The v line on your bridge hand

im refrring to the line that forms between your thumb and the skin below your index finger
its shaped like a V with the thumb away from the side of your hand but as the thumb closes to be along side the side of your hand it becomes a line
does that line have to be along the shot line to be a good bridge in general
and specifically for a closed bridge
in the pics below the orange on the stapler is the contact point on the objecrt ball
and im trying to show 2 bridges with different orientations to the orange target
is there a "better" orientation of the v line to the target??
does it even matter??

No, the line does not have to be on the shot line. Most will find that very awkward. The bridge needs to be stable and control the cue. The angle of that line is also at least partly determined by how one has their arm positioned, bent or straight.
 
Having the V on the line of aim using a closed bridge will cause the cue to either go across the line of aim or parallel to it looking at your pictures. Some people can do it due to how their hands and wrists work but yours doesn't look possible. Your loop should be on the line of aim by the looks of things.

With an open bridge however, the V should be on the line of aim.

you think the bottom ridge is better for me??

I agree with this. Also, I think angling the line creates a "sharper" V for more precise positioning and greater stability.

For me increasing the amount of surface area the cue passes through (in between the two bridges shown) helps stabilize my stroke. Having a "longer" bridge seems to help control my aim more then a more round doughnut hole type with less contact area on the cue. I personally am not as concerned with the alignment of the v as with simply the length the cue slides through the opening while touching. I start with the round bridge then turn my hand slightly to the left to increase the amount of surface area and length the cue stays in contact with my fingers. I don't know if my explanation of "long" paints the right picture but it has a longer look, more like the first picture but not that severe.
 
IMO there is no difference. Your "line of sight" has no bearing on how your bridge is oriented. As long as the closed bridge is not interfering with the delivery of the cue, you can hold it however suits you best.

Definitely the bottom photo. Notice how the third finger extends out to the right, stabilizing and balancing the hand, relative to the position of the cue stick.

It's fine to pay someone a compliment, but why add on "She's better than most" which is an obvious knock at Scott Lee who already posted his advice in this thread. And please, spare me the lecture on how I'm being omnipotent.

Others besides Scott also gave their advice or lack of it in this thread. Fran pointed out a reason why one bridge would seem to be better than the other.

I wish Fran was in my area as I would certainly consider taking a general lesson from her as she has always been able to trouble shoot with solid answers & I do not recalled her ever saying things like it doesn't matter. So, I especially would ask trouble shooting or particular specific questions of Fran & would certainly consider her answers as rather trustworthy.

I can not help it if YOU see complimenting someone as a knock on another, especially when I mentioned no one else's name.

'Better than most' is a rather common compliment. Gary Koch regularly uses it in his golf commentary. It was the first thing that I said after telling Larry to listen to Fran. That WAS the compliment to Fran & the reason that I would suggest that he listen to her rather than 'it doesn't mater' or 'it really is not an issue'. It was not 'added' to a compliment.

It spite of what you think of yourself you are NOT omniscient. One's past does not always guide their present nor their future. When you assume you make a you know what out of yourself but please do NOT use me to do it to yourself.

I am not paranoid & what would paranoia have to do with this instance?

Yes & every time I have been banned it was when I engaged 'lies' because I don't like lies or being lied about. So in that regard, I have shown myself to be very predictable & the trolls have used & taken advantage of that.

You say I'm predictable as though you were correct but in this instance you were dead wrong.

Have a nice life, as I will make a concerted effort to try to totally ignore you in the future.
