Well, it's not really come one come all. You have to be a WSOP league member...do you not? Who won the last one? Good luck with your event.

Not necessarily. You just have to be a WSOPool sanctioned member....$35 sanction fee to the end of the year for a total of 6 $1000 added tournaments. There are benefits that are extended to our league players though...for example smaller entry fees into each of our events, weekly money-added tournaments for league players in addition to being a part of a nice cash-money league that's fairly handicapped too. Paul Scott's won the last two so his handicap is getting bumped up a full game. Thanks for the luck!

Daniel,
If I'm reading this correctly, all I have to do is pay a $35 sanction fee and the $15 entry fee and I can play, correct? Even though I don't play in WSOP sanctioned place? Thanks, Jeff

That's correct Jeff. We really don't have sanctioned "rooms" per say, we simply have participating locations. The $35 would sanction you as a WSOPool member and give you access to all of our $1000 added monthly tournaments throughout the rest of the year...6 total. Then you would only pay your entry fee to play....$50 total you're first time out. Hope to see you there!

Daniel

How do you determine somebody's rating, if I haven't already played in one ?

We've got contacts with most, if not all of the league operators in the greater Chicago area. If neither Tom or I have seen you play before, and Tom knows virtually every player around here, then we make a call to the room/s or LO that you listed on your membership application to ask about your level of play. If that doesn't work, then we'd most likely give you a default 5 1/2 handicap. It's not an exact science but that's why we stay so flexible with our handicapping procedures....so we can alter handicaps mid-tournament if we were way off base initially.

Daniel...Nice! That's a new addition to the WSOP, or one I missed when reading about tournament events before. Either way, good job providing money-added tournaments for the Chicago poolplayers...although you probably get some folks from other states too!

Thanks Scott! We do get some WIS and IN players too but we consider them greater Chicago area....we get a few Carom Room players and I believe some Romines players. Our goal is to give the pool players what they deserve....a consistent event, where everyone has a fair chance at finishing in the money, and where decent prize-money is at stake....thanks again :)
