Dott Dashed By Top Trumps.
Judd Trump 13 v 5 Graeme Dott-Youth beat experience.

Williams Tells As Allens Keys Lost.
Mark Williams 13 v 5 Mark Allen-Only 1 Mark and Williams was impressive.

Higgins Rockets O Sullivan
John Higgins 13 v 10 Ronnie O Sullivan-Scrappy game but good win Higgins.

Selby Out Of Date As Ding Dongs
Ding J 13 v 10 Mark Selby-Marks bottle crashed but good win Ding.

My views on the Semi Finals :
The commentators said years ago Ding would win this and he disappointed and then they said Judd Trump was the next big thing and then he disappeared from the scene and now they meet in the Semi Finals !

Both players have excelled my expectations and its a tough one to call here as its going to be new to them playing under the one table atmosphere at The Crucible.I go for Ding but wouldnt be suprised if Trump won !

Mark Williams has got back to his best after a few years in the wilderness and has impressed me the most in this tournament so far.I wouldnt be suprised if he went all the way.

John Higgins has had a tough year and although hes won a few tournaments he looked lost at times especially against O Sullivan but in the final session he came good and this match is also a tough call but I gave it to John Higgins at the start!May the best man win!:)

I think the QFs were exceptionally tough to predict. I woulnd't have bet any money, and if I'd had to guess, I'd have said Dott, Selby, Williams, and O'Sullivan. Well...
Now I'd say with just a little more confidence, Trump and Higgins. We'll see. I'm not basing that on current performance, as it tens to be a poor indicator of what's to come.
 
Semi Finals:

Trump Zings Ding !

Judd Trump 5 v 3 Ding

I Viewed this and had to turn the volume off as the commentary was a bit biased towards Trump in my opinion.Judd was generating a fizzy zing onto the cue ball and it reminded me of Alex Hurricane Higgins,Jimmy White and Ronnie O Sullivan but he had no kind of safety game to fall back on and of the three players I mentioned I thought he falls into Jimmy Whites style the most.Good show so far but Dings still in this match.

Shark Williams Bites Higgins !

Mark Williams 5 v 3 John Higgins

Mark Williams hasnt played this well for maybe 8 years and its good to see him in the zone again.When hes in this mode its like a poolroom shark hustler at the table!He has no regards about century breaks and settles for 70/80 and its like set them up again referee!John had to work hard for his 3 frames and will have to up his game to another level.I never knew this stat,they have met in the Semi Finals twice and Mark has won them both.John better get in the zone soon but this is also a great match so far.

I'm up at 5am tomorrow for more action, tired as hell....

the thing is any fan of cue sports should try and watch this stuff, I'm a pool guy first and always but this is the ultimate cue sports tourney bar none
 
Trump's game is so sexy! Perfect cue action. I hope he can hold it together and beat Ding tomorrow. Nothing against Ding, but I want to see Trump in the final.

Judd Trump 12 v 12 Ding

At 9-7 to Ding it looked like the fizzy bubbles in Trumps champagne went flat and he showed a lot of character to pick himself up off the canvas and finish level at 12-12.Ding also showed some fighting spirit taking the final frame of the session.Heads or tails here for the winner.

Mark Williams 9 v 7 John Higgins

Wow!What a session of snooker best for ages!Like a pair of dueling Chess Grandmasters they served up a feast and Mark Williams was outstanding! Any other player would be well behind in the scoreline and at the end I thought John Hggins must be the only player that can handle this standard of play and to be only two frames down,amazimg!

was easy today, 930 am eastern to watch Judd and Ding and later 2pm for Mark and John.....although it's all about Judd now imo as the other two have already done it all

Judd Trump 17 v 15 Ding

Ding had his chances and was either not good enough or clever enough to seal the deal.Judd Trumps play has been impressive and he deserved the win and his 105 final frame spoke volumes.

Higgins Hauls In Shark Williams !

John Higgins 17 v 14 Mark Williams

This was a great match and maybe Mark Williams play peaked in the second session.Nervy and scrappy towards the end but well done John Higgins ! Have Fun All :)
 
I really can't see how Trump could win the trophy. I admit being wrong about not believing he could get to the final, but let's face it, he's never been seriously challenged by a top class opponent. Ding did the dirty work with Selby for him - and that was it.
If a miracle happened and Trump did win, I would not be entirely disappointed though, as you can't say he does not deserve it. With Murphy a few years back, that really hurt - some kid coming out of nowhere and winning the title because all the major players had bad moments on the way. You can't say that now about Trump.
All I can blame him for is the tons of luck... I said before Ding was lucky but now I retract it! This kid's luck is beyond belief!

I wouldn't be happy about Higgins either. He used to be my snooker hero, but now we all know he's just a goddamn dishonest cheat.
 
What are you saying? Trump already beat 2 world champions and Ding in the semi-finals, who btw played as well as he could. I think it's 50/50 vs. Higgins.
 
Luck? what utter nonsense. you do not get into the later stages of this event on luck. Judd is a brilliant player and an exceptional talent and deserves to be where he is. It would be stellar for the game if he could snap this off. Higgins is tough but it could happen.
