The World's Most Powerful Snooker Stroke?

Gosh do I love the two drunk bastards! Higgins and White are the closest you're going to see to a 9 ball stroke on a snooker table.

Thanks for the link.

i miss higgins. loved to watch him play snooker drunk. higgins and white: my 2 favorit players from the old days.!!

and damn them, if higgins wants a good drink during his match let him have it :) he's teriffic and as entertaining as white.

Jimmy White is left with the white ball almost touching two reds. He repeatedly attempts to dab the white against one of the reds without playing a foul push (if the tip is in contact with the white when the white is in contact with the object ball). He makes repeated tentative efforts to dab the white without managing to touch it, and this starts the crowd giggling and gets them in a jocular mood. Eventually he manages to do it (no mean feat) and leaves Cliff Thorburn with the same dilemma.

Cliff shapes up to play the same type of shot, and the crowd falls silent in anticipation of the almost inevitable foul. Cliff glances over his shoulder to see eagle-eyed referee Len Ganley watching intently, and remarks 'I think you're wanted on the phone'. Much hilarity ensues. I'm sure it seemed funny at the time.

Yep, those were the good old days. Real characters playing the game & playing it well. Even Len Ganley looked like he enjoyed his job.

Any older Brits remember the TV ad for Carling Black Label lager with Ganley?

best part of the video is when he shoots the cue right into the pocket after eyeing the shot for so long

Not quite fair. He has to make the thinnest posible contact on the red to avoid a foul, and he's clearly trying to 'angle' the cue ball (ie leave it obstructed by the jaws of the pocket) which he almost succeeds in doing.
