The Year of Cases!

I have never seen so many great cases coming out.

Between Swift's new styles, Jack's great stuff like the Ron Ross and TAR cases, Murnak's innovative stuff, On Q Case's inlays, Cuemaster's stunning tooling, Matcases' artistry, JB Cases' whatevers, Whitten's new styles, GTF, Thomas, New George cases, and all the vintage stuff coming out of the closet, this is the year of cases in my opinion.

I was listening to TAR's interview with Jack and they were talking about the fact that there aren't many case makers compared to cue makers. It's true.

Here is the list I know of active case makers not including production brands,

Jack Justis
Whitten
Brian Bonner
On Q Cases
JB Cases
Jim Murnak
Matcase
Dennis Swift
Cuemaster
Ron Thomas
Jiasen Cue Cases
Instroke/Stroke (added because they occassionally do custom stuff)
It's George - Are they still making cases?

Ritchie Remo

Anyone have others to add to the list? This is still a small list compared to the amount of cuemakers out there. But it's more choice than players have had in years.

Anyway I want to say that I am completely in awe of some of the case art that gets posted here.

John - apprentice case maker. :-)

Rusty....AZ username "CAPEFAIRPOOL".

He's super to work with and the quality of his leather is sky high.:)

mr. engles is also making nice cases!

Is Engles actively making cases? I have seen a lot of really nice ones on the for sale section. I was under the impression that he had stopped making them.

It is also my understanding that Engles is not currently making cases.
The most recent sales of his cases have been out of a collection and I did purchase a beauty from that collection.
It would be great if he did decide to get back into the industry.

oh, i didn't notice that. i thought he is still making cases, cause there were a lot of brandnew cases in the wanted/sale section recently.

I'd say it's been a good three years, at least, since Sam stopped making his cases. Rumors abound as to why he stopped, and I shall leave it at that, as I do not know the real story. It's a shame, he made a great case at a very reasonable price...unless you went for one of the more exotic skins. However, he only did these cases in the 1x2 configuration...no 2x4's were available...least-wise, I've never seen one.

It was because of their under $200 pricepoint that they were snapped up faster than he could make them, and why you see many that look/are brand new in the Wanted/For Sale section.

It's been a couple of years now, but someone had posted here on AZ that he was selling off his materials and tools...again, this is unsubstantiated. But if this is the case, then it would be doubtful that he would return to making his cases. :frown:
