There will be gambling on pool in vegas in the near future

I disagree , It's already proven to work elsewhere so to me it's not if but when IMHO and I think Match Room will be lobbying for this and I think they will put forth a compelling argument and a model that shows it works on the Euro tour and snooker , right now there are bets going online on this cup inside the USA on FB sites and obviously being bet there live ,
I also believe Mike Page and his Fargo rate is betting on it also since it's now gaining traction as the go to handicapping system worldwide but that's speculation on my part but if it were me I would be

I know they just suspended a couple guys on the snooker tour for match fixing. This has happened multiple times over there. For gambling on pool to work you would need a VERY impartial "Dump Police" to monitor it. Still wouldn't bet a quarter on it.

for a start there's no functioning pro tour to be suspended from, let alone any credible governing body to enforce anti-dumping. snooker works because they have that, and big prize money to lessen the incentive for match fixing. they also pay people to analyze betting patterns, going back several years even

i like to bet now and then, on snooker and soccer. i know match fixing exists in both, but is very rare. i would probably hesitate to bet on the US open..

Not as rare as you may think: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_snooker_players_investigated_for_match-fixing These are just the ones caught and publicized.

I think in the near future sports gambling is going to be legal nationwide and not just in Vegas. Since the Supreme Court ruling there are already a lot of states that are moving to legalize it. There would need to be pro pool infrastructure and organization first, but if that was in place legalized gambling on matches could happen and sports books could be viable sponsors like they are in the UK. It wouldn't surprise me at all if Matchroom has taken note of these political winds shifting.
