It's forum member Rossaroni. He's part of a team participating in a cycling event raising money for diabetes research. I've seen a decent number of good causes get picked up and run with here on the forum... we sent a group of kids to camp, helped an assault victim with a little bit of emergency cash, and others that I don't recall exactly because I didn't have the means to participate at the time.
We've also had several opportunities to piss away money on pro players and their friends. The legacy of scammers and users of the charitable nature of the forum makes us skip over any titles with "raising money" featured in the title.
The thread I'm talking about is here: http://forums.azbilliards.com/showthread.php?t=364049 and links to the parent site for the charity. Rossaroni has a pretty reasonable goal that could be reached easily with just a few more "minimum denomination" donors.
Why don't we push him over the finish line?
Diabetes is pool related, too. Our ranks are typically the older, overweight, and sedentary folks listed as "at risk" on every warning poster. Bribe diabetes to stay away with a few dollars!
