The USBA has appointed Therese Klompenhouwer of the Netherlands as its first director delegate. She will be responsible for promotion of the USBA from Europe through offering USBA memberships, for giving her perspective as a European to the USBA, and for working on promotion of women's billiards in the United States.

She does not have voting rights and can be offered access to certain subjects on the USBA Board forum if invited by any directors.

For those of you that are not familiar with Therese, she is considered one of the top female 3-cushion players in the world.

You can learn more about her at http://www.fanclub-thereseklompenhouwer.com/ The home page is in Dutch, but can be translated into any other language by clicking on "Translate" on the upper right side of the page.

The RatF@@Ker might sat on the sideline :ignore: , while chewing the plasterboard. :barf: Waiting for AZ Member fanclub-therese comments.

AS there are numerous questions RatF@@Ker chewing to ask :shakehead:

Bruce I hope you read this post http://forums.azbilliards.com/showthread.php?t=200183 and remember there numerous Non AZ Member names that can be added..... which you should already know.

Bobby, thanks for your question about Therese’s new role. I believe there are other USBA Board members more knowledgeable than I am about how Therese plans to promote women’s billiards in the U.S. I will defer to them to give you their take.

Hi Bob,

I'm more interested in how you think Therese can help the USBA. Some might think only a U.S. resident can be helpful to the USBA. I don't share those thoughts. I am interested in promoting caroms and specifically women's caroms from all sources.

Let's pm each other and work on some ideas you have.

Thanks,

Bob,

Thanks for letting me know I'm in good company with people like Dennis, Bob, and Paul. You can't go too wrong with sharing the same ideas with people of this pedigree.

Since I Don't Know what go on "Behind The GREEN Door of USBA" I cannot speak for anything. But let see WPBA, Women Region/State Pool Assocation, maybe talk with Melissa Little as she was one of the origional 2007 Ladies 3C competitor. But wait none of that will work They aren't USBA members, they don't give to USBA.

Surprising I'm still wait for a simple answer - to the original Question HOW?

Promoting Women's Billiard

I think the best way to promote women's billiards, is to make it more interesting and to try to turn up the level. How higher the level, the more interesting it is. When you watch a Tennisgame, for example, I think you prefer to watch Federer vs. Nadal, instead of 2 players you never heard of and not play that well. I am a professional 3cushion player, I travel all over the world, practise 4 to 5 days a week just to get better and better. It is all about practise and discipline. And yes, it will cost some money to achieve that, but I really think there are some good ways to make women's billiard and billiards in general, more interesting in the US!

Therese, First and Foremost Welcome to AZBilliards Forum. and it was great watching you by CaromTV at Carom Cafe in NY.

But your above statment still didn't answer the question. How???
as I pointed out in my post.

There Been Women in 3C from USA and other Countries, since 19---
How do you expect to do--- what they couldn't?? Present day Jeanette Lee

First post I be nice.

Promote women's billiard

Bob, First of all, thank you for your compliment, I apreciate it very much.

Well, your right, I didn't answer that. I think there has to be organised more for women's billiard, like tournaments. I am also willing to go to the US for some weeks next Summer, to personal help to promote women's billiards, by giving clinics, play tournaments and demonstrations. And when that happens, also with the ladies tournaments, we need attention in anyway we can get. But first we need the time to share our ideas and see if we can get somewhere together, but I really think we can work together and make something nice happen!

And about Jeanette Lee....she is the best promotion the US ever had for female POOL players!

Best regards

Bob,

I'm not sure what emotive you are trying to strike here. I'll presume that you are sincere. You are welcome to criticize me ad infinitum. Many people would actually enjoy that (perhaps even myself)

You said to Therese: "First post I be nice".

You may want to tread carefully and respectfully with Therese. You certainly will not win any points bullying her. The carom community will not find that amusing in the slightest.

Bully me or the USBA or a target of your choice.

Promote women's billiard

And Bob, Don't get me wrong, I was asked to share my ideas with the USBA by being a director delegate of the USBA. I understand that you are sceptial and critical about this, but instead of keeping this discussion, isn't it better if we try to put our ideas together and can see if we dó can promote women's billiard in the US??!! Because in my point of view it doesn't matter who is the best person for the job, but it does matter that the job is getting done!

All the best, Therese

Therese here some thought for you to conside Read page 2 of 6 2008 USBA NewLetter in Pdf File.
http://www.usba.net/Newsletters/2008Newsletters/February2008PQBNewsletter.pdf

Some Will say Jeanette Lee Promote Both BILLARD and POOL in the US and Oversea. To my understanding her basement have both Pool and Carom tables in it.

Ask USBA Board members, if there were any discuss between These Ladies and them, about installing a Carom Table in their Billiard Room http://stixbarandgrill.com/about.html
Two of those young Lady did support The USBA ladies 3C Tournament ment in pdf file.

Just for everyone info I did support that tournament, as other did with monetary.

Know what you might really be getting involve with.

Bob, I get your point and yes it would be good that the 2 ladies would also put 2 or 4 carom billiards in there billiard room, instead of only pool! So then they are able to also promote women's 3cushion, by organizing 3cushion ladies tournaments.

Of course I know that Jeanette Lee also play's 3cushion, but in my opinion her level is to low in 3cushion, if you compare it to the level she plays in pool. Gonzales is a better example for promoting 3cushion, because she plays better. Sometimes is not only the name, but also the way they perform.

Steve
Check USBA history from board meeting mintues to what written in their Newletter. Does USBA really care about Women Member or just
Tournaments for Themselves.

Steve do you want me to bring up an old AZThread about Jeanette Lee at Carom Cafe and the Dress Code issue.

Therese Klompenhouwer as a person or a Respectable carom player is not the issue. The How - is the issue! When or Not--- is USBA working with the WPBA or Women Region Association, or promote USBA at Expos .

The question is Still How? What the Present Numbers of Female USBA MEMBERS? 4 or 8??

Oh! BTW Zensteve- Couldn't even foremost Welcome Therese To AZ Forum and as a New Member.
But you saying I'm Bullying. You real want to go down this Road Again!!

Anything you can do to promote 3-c in USA will be great Therese - where I live afew yrs ago the new rm had a Billiard table and myself and the owner and 1 or 2 guys who worked there played on it - in 1 month he got rid of it as no else played on it. Another rm had a table and I would play there but they also replaced it with a pool table. The nearest rm for me is 80 miles away. Billiards (3-c) is popular some large cities but in some areas there are many pool players who have never seen a Billiard table.
