In eight ball, when you scratch on the eight, put the eight in the wrong pocket and get a bad hit all on one shot! And I managed to do exactly that.

At Grady’s 1P tourney in Reno in jan 93 I watched Dan Louie shoot a spot shot into the wrong pocket and lost his match.

I didn’t know Dan back then. In about 08 at the US Open I got to know him. I mentioned that shot, of course he’ll never forget it. Was a $1000 entry 1P tourney. Everyone was there. I just watched I was flat broke.

Dan is a great guy, I saw him put the CB down on the wrong side and shoot the shot. Of course I didn’t say anything. I couldn’t believe it. But it happened.

I've gone completely brain dead and have done this playing 9 ball.
I'm a 15 - 20 seconds player, no shot clock required , especially when they are sitting in the holes.

Ball in hand on the 1 ball, - 2 ball is a little tricky, a few different ways to get there, taking more time than normal.
I'm looking for insurance and everything else that runs through your head. If I get good on the 2 it's a road map runout, not playing safe, running out.

I made my desicion, place the cue ball precisely down and shoot the 2 ball,,, the wrong ball.

CB was rolling to a perfect spot when a bee landed on the table. The CB hit the bee and rolled off. True...

The worst I can think of is Ronnie A is playing Fats (substitute any two legends, I've heard a couple renditions) Ronnie's ball comes up short and hooked on the game ball. He does his rant but there's nothing to play.
