Just a note to say thank you to all of you who have put up with me the past few weeks. I know I have posted a lot of questions and asked advice of many of you. So many of you have been so openly honest and given me great advice. This place is incredible. I have been working steadily at first determining what I wanted to buy to reach my desired level of pool competency. This past week I started to place orders for some of the things and they have started to be delivered. Today I received a Tiger X Ultra LD shaft based on advice I got here. When I first put it on my butt and rolled it on my table it looked horrible. the I took it apart and tried again same thing then I moved to a different part of the table and it looked great so I am thinking it was simply the poor quality table I currently have. In a few weeks though I will be getting my new table set up and it will be perfect.

I don't often read threads on here showing appreciation or gratitude but in this case I felt like I had to write one. This group has improved my pool life just by sharing advice and love of the game the others here have.
 
Good thread....There's a lot of sharing people here. We learn from and help each other.
 
Read your blog entry...yes you have had a busy week acquiring billiard related items.

Item #1-at least her heart was in the right place. You're like me; have to research everything to death before pulling the trigger.

Getting your table in a couple of weeks? Wow, that's pretty fast! Heath really took care of you.

Is your table Rosewood stained Dymondwood, or some other wood that is stained that color?

Being nosey because I will be ordering a 9ft Pro/Am later this year hoping to get either the Rosewood or Walnut Dymondwood as first choices. The fire at the Dymondwood plant in August of 2014 may put that in jeopardy :confused:
 
Congratulations for moving forward and thanks for saying thank you.

You will not be disappointed by the Tiger LD. The Sniper tip is fantastic. Don't be afraid to slightly reshape it regularly for best results.
But keep an eye on the shaft's finish.

well the table will likely arrive 6-8 weeks from order but time flys especially in February for me. They don't have dymondwood but they use solid wood instead. I may be mistaken but I think the lower panels are made of poplar and stained. They indicated the routing would not be white it will be black. I just want everything perfect when it arrives. I just got pocket reducers as my current table has buckets and was surprised at the difference they made. I'm not even sure if they will let a ball pass on the diamond. As far as the shaft finish on the tiger x it almost feels like it's just sanded.
