I didn't really observe anything ground breaking in the video..
However, I was quite disappointed to see how disrespectful Darren Appleton was at the end of it. Throwing his cue to the floor, and then jumping up on the table, and stomping on the rail, before jumping off the table...
I can appreciate someone being excited after a huge accomplishment, and jumping up on the table is one thing.. But, to stomp on the rail/cushion, that's just being a d-bag. I feel the same about him throwing his cue to the floor.
I understand that pool players don't necessarily make the best role models, but when younger players see the elite players acting like this, what sort of precedent does that set for the generations to come?
I hear what you're saying but also feel that you're taking it a bit too serious. You're talking about a play "one of few" you can be and many have mentioned could be an ambassador for the game acting out one time, if you want to talk about the incident in a different light I see a man at the suffering from the high of a big win in his book letting younger player know that not all wins are the same and sometimes uncontrollable outburst happen and you should be fortunate in you life too reach a situation where "You" can lose control like that.
Even ralf has fallen victim to this. and no one can call him a "bad example"
I see things from a different perspective now...
So, the next tournament that I win, to show my excitement, I'm going to flip the table over and throw my cue like a javelin across the pool hall. No one should mind, because it'll be a big win for me, and people will understand if I lose control.

I've always wondered why top players go apeshit after winning tournaments but not when they win money-matches.
You're equating a "big win" for you to his win? Now who's being ridiculous?
Let's put an end to:
Cutting nets in March Madness
Spin-outs in racing
Storming the field in football
Cake fights at weddings
Feel free to add to the list of fun-killers at big moments.
That was a big money event. If you think having to redo rails is going to have an impact, you're wrong.
Oh, that's right... I forgot.. There's so much money in pool, that senseless damage to a table should be covered by the fists full of money that the promoters rake in.
Thanks for clearing that up.
And who are you to say that anyone, on any level, shouldn't be as excited about their own accomplishments as the elite are of theirs? The emotions are the same, but the feat is on a different scale. The scale shouldn't make the accomplishment any less important to the individual.
So, you like a boring, emotionless game? Sweet.
While you're at it, why not ask if we can all get a trophy.
