Nothing wrong with saying "win it back the same way you lost it."

This is 2018, dont you know everybody likes to show off how smart they are?
Because in reality they are not very smart. As a matter of fact I am pretty sure the average IQ has fallen sharply in the past 2 decades. Social media (which this is a form of) is a way where you can think through your thoughts over a period of time, reread the posts then give what you would consider to be a logical thought out response. Then as these so called “geniuses” respond, you soon realize just how stupid they actually are. THAT’S WITH ALL THE INFORMATION AT HAND! If it was a game show they would be so embarrassed they would never answer a question. Hence the reality of our society walking idiots with phones acting like they are the only ones on the planet concerned wether or not some other idiot on another planet liked there post.

Oh, you assume the "losing player" won't play again, yet didn't he ask to double the bet?
That's a clear contradiction. He can't double the bet without playing more.
Yes, I know the actual expression is "shear". How much time did you spend with Louie???

Why would a guy who knows he can't win be trying to double the bet?
All those people that go to Las Vegas might read this and the Casino's
would all have to close down or turn onto family amusement parks.
IT'S CALLED A SUCKER

Jason, give it up. Nobody here is disrespecting money players.
realkingcobra; tournament players will always be thanking you for your entry fee contributions at the prize money payouts said:Now I know why Efren, and Bustamante, wouldn't play me. I fell bad that I
called them a couple of no playing nits. I sure won't waste my time trying
to get Shane,Alex,Dennis and the rest of them to gamble.
Now when I can grind out a little money, I'm getting something to eat.
If I spend it on an entry fee., I'll be hungry with no way to win it back
since these pro's keep turning down my offers to play.
Thanks again

You should start a new thread with the same plot but changing some of the wording. You know, change the game to "honky-tonk 8-ball", & make the bet cold beers or $2.00 or a mix starting with the friendly beer bet. Don't even mention sets or a race to a certain number.
Just say that Fletcher got Ralph stuck 4 beers and $16.00 then Ralph wants to double up, and ask our opinions.
Hope this helps !!! (May 2019 be your most prosperous year for pool)
You guys are missing the point. In this case the winner looks like he is gonna clearly keep winning, and instead of raising the bet and winning MORE, he shoots himself in the foot and the other guys quits. Not a very good business decision.
Worse case the winner quits after losing 1 set and still wins 50, best case, the guy is a go-off and loses thousands.
Jason
I'm gonna leave this right here, cause most 9f you posting clearly haven't read it.

You're beating the guys brains out, you've got his nose open, and

of thing that gives pool a bad name, The guy that won should be
barred from every pool room for life.

I never said a word to either player. It's just my opinion that the NIT had the
suckers nose open and ready to go off, and didn't have enough heart to do it,
even with the dead nuts.To not take a suckers money is a mortal sin.
Now the sucker will never play that NIT again. Good for him, that's my
opinion and I'm sticking to it.

What gives pool a bad name is predators who talk about bloodying someone's nose, beating a guys brains out, calling him a sucker...
Pool is an exquisite game that should be played in every high school, every college, in the Olympics, etc. What keep it out is the seedy, sleazy hustler image that is perpetuated by people like you. Most pool players play for the love of the game, not to beat their opponent to a pulp. Sad.
