How about World Champion Shane Van Boening! You heard it here first!

Weeeellll...

I'd say the odds for him to win in Chesapeak are still quite a lot of higher than to win in Manila..

If I was a book maker, I'd probably lay him 5-10 times as much In the WPC than I'd lay him in the Opens. In the Opens I'd put him the favourite though..

What odds is someone willing to give me to bet that Shane will win either the U.S. Open or the World Pool Championship. He must win one of the two for me to win my bet. I'll take 50-1. Any takers.

Big fields full of strong players! 256 in the Open and 128 in the WPC.

Hey hey hey!

50 to 1 is quite near to win the WPC, but to win the Open it must be something like 10 to 1, and you are asking odds for him to win EITHER.. :D

I can see you're a game maker... ;)

10 to 1 for the U.S. Open? Tell you what, you can take any player you want and I will give you 15 to 1. Just pick one though, like I did. Any one!

But but but!

I'm sorry Jay but you wont make big bets with me, only some sweat bets if interested and we come to a deal (which I doubt ;))

At WPC, which I concider even more difficult tournament to win than the Open, the smallest odds for Efren and Yang has been 13/2. I'd guess Shane's odds for WPC should be 33/1 at the moment, as it's played in Manila. At the Opens, if there were the same book maker (I believe Stan James), I believe about 5-8 players would have smaller odds than 15/1.

And, I've never been interested in those odds, just telling you what the 'professionals' are giving us. I should have taken Mika with 50/1 though at 2001.

I'll PM you about the sweat bet idea I have, and you'll understand the reason as you'll read it..
