Those waiting for a Diamond Table

Still love GC's though and think for playability of the two are about the same.
I like the thwack sound of a well hit center pocket shot on a GC I must say.
I used to love that sound when I played in a room that was equipped with Gandys. Too bad they stopped making those.
They played quite similar to GCs.

It’s the best. Traveling is the best teacher and adventure for me is something I’ve always had. I don’t do resorts, tour groups or cruise ships. I figure it out and go it alone 95% of the time. Or with friends who are local to the area(best plan).

Glad you got to travel like that. Eventually I’ll slow down as I get older but when I do, no regrets. I want to see and do it all(almost) no sky diving 😂.

Japan and Germany are my 2 favorite countries.
I’ve been lucky to be able to travel so much. I’m usually traveling 6-7 months a year and home the rest of the time.
Coming to a country near you,
Fatboy

Sinatra was the most traveled jillionaire of all time. Couldn't run three balls, but Dean Martin played very well. Could run racks when he had money on the game.

Traveling is the nuts. It’s not expensive as it sounds when you know how to use points for air and Airbnb, the time is the hardest part for most people.

I handle my biz while I travel the “work at home” thing has been my thing for the last 25 years. Yesterday I was up until 6am working-that’s the exception. Usually when I’m in Europe I’m done by 2am which is perfect.

What is the 2nd hand market like for Diamond tables?
Any group that refurbishes them?

Some people I know are talking about getting one, I will replace an old Olio 9ft table I have.
But, the local guy here, well is someone with a rep for keeping people waiting and marking up more than most for new tables.

So, looking at 2nd hand to skip that problem.

I'm in a few pool-related facebook groups. Every time a Diamond table goes up for sale, it is gone very quickly. Always less than a day, sometimes just a couple hours. And for strong prices, too.

Bite the bullet: save for a new one, order it, wait for it and never look back. It is a one time purchase. Trying to cut corners will only add frustration. Be patient and do it once. IMO of course.

One business I am in, we have a global network for freight forwarding.
So, if I get enough interest here in Sydney, Australia then I will get a 20ft or 40ft container and ship with whatever stock I am bringing in from the US that month.
Trust me, this will be much faster and cheaper than dealing with the local exclusive guy for Australia.
That brings 10x more frustration...

I am asking contacts I have in the US around pool.
But, thought I would ask here.

Thanks, I am on Pool is not Dead! 61K followers.
But, that does not have sales going.
Feel free to post some group links for sales, or PM me.

I was sayin to order it NEW and directly from Diamond. GOOD LUCK FINDING USED ONES>.... You would be better off trying to become a new Diamond Dealer

I sold mine for around $5000 in 5 minutes about 8 years ago. Was the easiest table sale I ever had. Ever.

They are built very well and they just aren’t old enough yet to have a population of old thrashed ones like GC’s that can be restored.

Also the rooms that have them are often financed tables so that keeps them off the market as well. If the room goes under the box’s go back to Diamond. Not into the hands of flippers.

Lots of reasons there’s not many used ones floating around on the open market.

Open Billiards Market, 62k members. They'll pop up occasionally, but, as mentioned, they will go fast.

Cheers, it will be more about finding the bigger sellers than the one offs.
Shops, distributors etc.
If that existed: I would be buying them up and there are many others that would to. They sell themselves. Hard to find quantities or even singles...
Good luck and keep us posted on your progress!!

We just bought a place in TN. and I haven't found any Diamond tables to purchase out that way.
I may have to have my GC "Diamondized" and bring it with me when I leave AZ.
Not really looking forward to moving a table and definitely not interested in hauling a 1pc slate Diamond 1500 miles with load/unload.
I appreciate Diamond not cutting corners to mass produce inferior products however.
I'll just keep my eyes open for one I guess.
