Found a dealer that has this in stock. How is the quality of Mcdermott cues and the defy shafts for those that own them?

Agree, I just have no experience with Mcdermott other than a child's cue I bought for my daughter. There is a lot less user feedback than revo set ups that is for sure.
The shaft I saw was cheap looking and felt cheap too. IMO> I like the Pinnacle by Lucasi or The Cynergy by Cuetec on the lower end. Hope you ENJOY what ever you end up with, good luck!

I bought a my son the cheap McDermott model stick and picked up a used defy shaft. I hit it a bit and the finish is sticky compared to a normal carbon shaft, even with a glove but I liked the hit however it developed a little rattle inside and they won't warranty it without a receipt. I think it's just a piece of glue or something but its annoying

I believe the shafts have improved as I have had my hands on 3 in the last 4 months and all were slick.
Warranty with a receipt is a common business practice.

Had the shaft for a few days. I liked the hit, I liked the idea of a wrap, didn't like that you need to put the ultra glide shaft conditioner on it for it not to be tacky. I will say that it only took like a drop or two of the stuff rubbed in with a paper towel, but still.

Yeah that stuff does work damn good

This is the second person that I have heard from that had a rattle in their shaft. That is concerning for sure.

I read the original CF defy shafts were sticky but now come with a new coating that is suppose to be more slick. Having to use a lubricant on a CF shaft to keep it slick would be a nuisance for sure

It's tiny whatever is and sometimes gets hung up down towards the joint. Out shooting in a poolhall or bar you never know it cause you can't hear it, home is a different story.

I had one probably about a month ago, new from Seyberts. Could have been in stock for a bit, be nice if that were the case.

For $500.00 bones it's a decent set up I think, but the place that has it doesn't have a return policy on used items so I'll be stuck with it if I don't like it. I also have been looking into to the OB shafts/cues heard some good things especially on their shafts. Their price is reasonable or a Jacoby widow cue with there CF set up. I love the sound of the Jacoby shafts.

Well after shopping around lad's I think I am gonna go in a completely different direction and get a mezz EC series with a ex pro 30 inch shaft. I am going to give it a day to think on it, but I love the simple look and heard they hit very good.

Haven't tried the defy shaft, but my daily player (butt) is a McDermott that's more than 20 years old. After all this time, it still looks and plays like a brand new cue. In my book, their quality is top notch.
