Thoughts on this post about Dennis...

In Japan the pro players need a "pro license" which costs $1000 or something and you need to pass a test. After getting your license you need to pay $150 or something (I don't remember the exact numbers) each month to be able to call yourself a "pro".

I heard that 99% of the "pro" players here can't make a decent living and need a second job.

Also if you're an amateur in Japan and you win one if the big "open" tournaments you don't get any money because you're not a "pro".

Knew the Japanese were sharp, smart to do what they do.

We in USA could learn from them.

Best Cameras, and great Cars.

Nah, if they were in his backyard maybe, but you add in entry fees, travel, hotel, food, rental car, etc, etc. I bet as far as tournaments go after all is said and done he'd be better off at McDonalds, especially when you add up the hours he puts in to play that well - lucky if it would be minimum wage

Dennis is a star and hero in his country. McDonald's, I think not. 😂

Well maybe his people should help him with his problem.

Dennis is past age of consent, if he choose to be pro player, and traveler.

He should have adhered to travel tools of countries on travel list.

So I did not say that Dennis should be allowed to return (I do not care either way). I just gave my opinion on McDonald's being a better career option. And that would still be a no.

And don't call me Shirley!

I think Dennis should be held to same standard as other frequent visitors to our country.

AaUSA like most countries in World have visitor regulations.

Go visit Israel and get your passport stamped, Israel. Well some countries in Middle East will not welcome you.

Is there really a need for these guys to come to America. Doesn't Asia and Europe have better tournaments than we do anyway? At least they have a tour.

If you really want the third degree fly into Israel. You better have your t's crossed and i's dotted or you'll never be seen again.

You obviously missed the DD thing

I read some ( I am not reading 1000 word posts). DD was kicked out also. I am a DD and Dennis fan. However I do not have the time or inclination to worry about their comings and goings. If they are not legal, just cross out Southern border like everyone else...

Both players are spared having to work at McDonald's, a fate worse then he'll (in my opinion). 😂

Tend to agree. There are visa options that will avoid these pitfalls. Travel visa's regs do need to be upgraded/standardized tho.

When you go to apply for a visa, they ask you the reason you want to come to the USA.

Tell them you want to come to play in professional pool tournaments and to hustle pool.

Don't tell them you are coming as a tourist to see Mount Rushmore and Niagara Falls.
