Thrift store cue ID please

How do you know it was over 100 years old?
You tell me.

sweet cue. there was an old guy, George Ellis, (about 50 or so years ago) who played with one close to that. his had the ebony splice at the end of the shaft.
I have a number of antiques. Sadly, I sold that one, to a friend, for a friendly price. I sort of regret it. I rarely sell. When I do, it's a big deal to me.

Playing with them is a great pleasure. I love taking 5 or 10 cues out to compare and contrast on the table where it matters. I feel it is a rare luxury.

I don't know how old it is but it is very old. Very unusual, long joint. I suppose the flatness to the butt was common to pool and snooker cue sticks years ago.
I don't know either, maybe we can just call it around a hundred.

It has never been precisely identified. Really amazing points and veneers, perfectly even. It's not ebony, never exactly identified the wood either.

I don't know if that's a factory two piece, or if someone made it from a one piece.

Joint is ivory and perfect, same with ferrule. It had to have been stored well. Not a hint of a crack at all. Cue is straight.

So, an enigma. But "very old" as you say.

Other than nice patina, the cue was in great shape. As you can see I examined and verified it myself. :)
