They made a change, and now tickets will be sold at the door. Tickets will be on sale on Sunday, July 23 on the fifth floor of the Venetian's Convention Area.
I think it's a smart move, It was worth a shot to try the whole no tickets at the door, but the IPT is just not well known to the public and you you miss all those people that just heard about the tournament.
The way the tournament is spread out over so many days it will still be hard to get full crowds, but with tickets at the door, you should see at least twice as many people. Maybe they should sell individual day tickets now that they sell them at the door, you could still sell full pases for all days, but single days could be sold for less money, you could even charge more for later rounds.
If it was me, I would have free admission on day 1 just to get people involved in the IPT and market the IPT brand.
In the first year, it should be all about getting more people interested in the IPT, the money will come in time. I would like to see free hats, DVD's, chalk, anything to promote the IPT.
