I have been installing a few Emerald tips and they are very good.
Better than any LePro ... IMHO.

They cut and shape much like a more expensive layered tip and play well.

Anyone else care to comment about what they think of them?

Not too shabby

I used to play with a Sniper and recently switched to the Emerald. Plays just as good if not better. Holds chalk better too. Plus you can't beat the price.

im playing with one for a month mabe more and i absolutley love it best tip ive ever played with and i tried allot of the trust me :D

still holds its shape just had to scuff it once no mushroomin, great draw, great feedback overall the feel just suits me perfectly.

once again thx to benfica for hooking me up

cheers!

I just recently installed one on one of my new cues. I haven't played with it much yet because lately I have been playing for money, not much, but something. Anyways the biggest thing I noticed is it is very fibrous.
It gets very rough, very easy, so it will definitely hold chalk very well.
I only hit about a half dozen shots and it seems like a pretty firm hit,
but at the same time it is on a new cue I am not use to yet.

Since it gets so rough and fibrous so easy, the tip might not last very long.
But maybe hitting more balls with it will make it not so fibrous.
I'll try it out some more tomorrow night.

I think its pretty damn funny that they market it as recycled. I'm pretty sure that all animal hide is considered recycled once it's taken off the animal...

I have been testing a couple for the last 2 weeks.
Early days yet, but I am very happy with them.
They are easy to install and shape up.
I recomend them.
They are also a good price and for the money, I think are hard to beat.

I've got some Tiger Emeralds Tip in case anyone wants to purchase any to try. PM me for more details.

Besides the cost issue it is one of the best tips I've used and sold in a long time. Believe it or not I sold well over 50 cases of tips to Az'ers alone.
So far all happy campers ;)

I've installed about 10 of them on customers cues and they all like them, the Emerald tips shape and hold chalk well. And play real good .

I put 2 on, and I really like how they played, unfortunately, they both came off. I think it was the glue, gorilla impact superglue, but it was the liquid, not gel. I tried a lepro with the same glue, and no problem:confused:. I'll try with loctite gel next time, and we'll see.

I have the Everest that came on my cue still - is this one firmer or softer than the Everest (which I think is a pretty darn good tip)?

Hey Rodney,
Quick tip for you guys... On all layered tips Tiger, Kamui, Moori, etc...
After you face off the ferrule clean the portion you will put the glue (I use only "Insta-Cure+" Tip Glue from Tiger) with Acetone, that will remove any grease or dirt and will dry that portion of the ferrule and I guarantee you that the tip will not come off.

Sometimes the dry leather will soak up the super glue gel and you will get a weak bond.
After sanding the first layer of a laminated tip flat, I place a drop of thin super glue on it to penetrate and harden that layer.
Applying some thin stuff first, seals the first layer and prevents it from soaking up the gel when you glue the tip on, resulting in a stronger bond every time.
It also makes that first layer act like a pad.

I like Tiger..

I have talked with the Tiger people a few times in Vegas (missed them this year) and have always thought they were a stand up group that truly tries to put out a top shelf product. Played with Everest tips for years, but for know Im staying with pressed Elk Masters (not soaked in milk just pressed).

That sounds good, but would the acetone damage some of the softer ferrules?

The second tip I put on, I did spread glue on the tip, let it dry, resanded, and then installed, with the same result. The only other time I ever had a problem with tips, it was with the old moori's on a viking ferrule.

I'll get some different glue, and we'll see what happens.

I think it is a green wizard. I hit some with one tonight and it is not even close to being as good as a Kamui IMO> Kamui's are much more sensitive, much more responsive, and will outperform.

I do like the Emerald though. To me, it has all the same characteristics as Wizard tips.

Emerald better than Sniper?

Why would Tiger make a cheaper tip (Emerald) that performs better than a more expensive tip (Sniper). Makes no sense to me.

I know its subjective to us...but should not be to Tiger.
