has anyone had any experience with the Tiger jump/break tip?? i got one put on my players jump/break cue and havent successfully pulled off a jump yet. i know how to jump and can pull it off with a sledgehammer cue but was told i dont need to spend that kind of money for a jumpbreak cue. i know the tiger tip is a 99 on the durometer scale but do i need to just get a phenolic tip put on to jump? any replies welcome. thanks.

If you know how to jump you could jump with an Elk-Master!!!!!!!!!
I am going to try a White-Diamond. So far I've never seen anything that jumps an breaks like phenolic but limited control. The things I want a j/b to do phenolic is not the answer.

I was a fair jumper with a normal tip... then i got a sledgehammer and honestly anyone can jump with that... I recently had a lucasi jump/break with a tiger j/b tip on it and I could not get the cue ball off of the table an inch much less over a ball... I also did not feel like i was breaking the balls as solidly with it... long story short, i think that the phenolic tips have spoiled people by making jumping so easy... but for whatever reason I got rid of the lucasi with the tiger jump/break within 2 days..

How close can any of you jump a full ball using the white diamond tip?
Not trying to offend anyone in this thread but a lot of people say they can jump with anything but what does that really mean. Jump a quarter of a ball from 18" away. I'd really like to see someone jump a full ball from 1 or 2 ball widths away consistantly with a predator shaft and elkmaster tip. Not saying it can't be done but I would be impressed with your ability.
Just a little back ground: I could jump a full ball from 1 ball width away with a decent amount of success and from 2 ball widths away it was pretty automatic using a cuetec j/b cue with a phenolic tip/ferrule or either a lucasi jump cue. I got rid of those two cues and bout another jump break cue. I love the j/b cue I have now. It looks and even plays really good, but the tip is not phenolic. It is a hard leather tip. I get way more control with it and it breaks like a champ, but I can't jump a full ball any closer than 3 ball widths with it. I might get and extra shaft made with a phenolic tip/ferrule just for those occasions where I have to jump a full ball that close. It sounds like you guys are saying the whit diamond tip will jump like a phenolic and still play like a hard leather tip. Is this correct?

The Tiger Jump/Break is a leather tip. You will always need a bit more in the technique area to jump with it vs. a phenolic.
The interesting this is, we can make a leather tip that it just as hard as a phenolic, however it will show similar characteristics in; it will not hold chalk well thereby creating a control issue and miscues. An added bad thing of a leather tip that hard is, since it won't absorb the impact of striking the cue ball downward they can explode and chunk-off. That would make a crappy tip indeed.
The Tiger Jump/Break is the hardest laminated leather tip you will find that has those desirable and usable qualities (holds chalk, retains shape and hard enough to jump with ease).

I can jump a full ball 2-3 ball lengths away. I have never really tried any closer than that. I am able to jump with back spin without a problem. It is not all that often that I use the jump cue in competition but I have never miscued one time in all the times I have tried. I also have one on my break cue. IMO it jumps like a phenolic but plays like leather.

I can jump a full ball from a couple balls away... I can make any jump shot with the predator that I can with my jump cue except like a chalk distance away from the ball..
