Uh, I haven't seen a thread for this but I think it's happening. All the normal rules, entry fees, etc. The room is called Blue Fox Billiards in Winchester, VA. Google it and be there! If someone already posted something on this, disregard this message.

I will be there and if they have wireless internet then I can provide updates in this thread.
 
Tiger Tour Update - Blue Fox Winchester, VA

Thanks Mapman! I do have to apologize...as some of you may know I've been handling a serious family situation for the last five weeks. The support is greatly appreciated!

Here are the updates from today - we started with 51 players this morning in the open division. Including top points leaders Manny Chau, Brandon Shuff, Shaun Wilkie, Matt Clatterbuck (House Pro at Blue Fox). A couple of unexpected visitors - John Schmidt, Mike Davis and WPBA Pro Janet Atwell!

The first round match ups were tense... John Schmidt drew Manny Chau first round with John taking the match 9-8 after being down 6-1 at the beginning of the set!!! Brandon Shuff drew Mike Davis with Shuff taking the set 9-8!!! Needless to say the rail birds have been getting quite a show!

The top twelve are as follows:

John Schmidt vs. Danny Green
Danny had a close call in his last match of the night - going to the hill with Janet Atwell - John had another tight match up of 9-8 against Tiger Tour player Joey Ryan!

Bar Box Champion Scott Tollefson vs. Larry Kressel
Scott ran through Shuff 9-4 to take his seat in the top 4 - Larry beat house pro Clatterbuck to take his place in the top 4!

Top 8 in Elimination Bracket:
Matches starting at 1 pm tomorrow.

Manny Chau vs. Brandon Shuff
Joey Ryan vs. Matt Clatterbuck
Phil Kerns vs. Kevin West - Kerns defeated Mike Davis 7-4 to earn his spot.
Shaun Wilkie vs. Janet Atwell - Wilkie took an early loss to Shuff and has fought his way through the elimination bracket!

We're expecting a huge turnout for the ladies WPBA Qualifier tomorrow. We've already got 15 players registered as of this evening, and the regulars haven't even checked in!

I heard that Scott Tollefson won this over Shaun Wilkie with John Schmidt 3rd. Ming Ng and Buffy Jolie playing for hot seat with a couple other ladies still in it playing late tonight and into early morning.

Good Tourney

The tables were playing funny all weekend and John really didn't adjust well to them. He's always a great competitor though, and fun to be around. I look forward to watching his upcoming TAR match.

I think there was something wrong with the AC and the room was hot and humid. The balls were really sticky and reacted funny with certain types of shots. I pretty much stopped using left and right english unless it was absolutely necessary and played most of my shots with center ball. When I switched to this strategy I played a lot better. Over the course of the weekend, I saw more easy misses than I've ever seen on the Tiger Tour. Almost every good player missed a hanger or two. Very odd. Despite the AC issues, the place is very nice and the tables could play really well if the balls were polished and the felt was wiped down.
