so i want a low deflection shaft for my schon and i have decided pretty much on the tiger x or the ob1.. what do you guys think is better? what feels more solid like a schon instead of that hollow predator feel?
X Breaker said:Hit is subjective. My personal experience and opinion is that OB1 has a very soft and quiet hit, while the Tiger X shaft is very solid.
I personally do not like to have a pad between the tip and the ferrule, I feel that it kind of softens the hit.
I was told by a OB 1 dealer that the pad is required to keep the wood ferrule from breaking.
I just think that if they put a pad there to prevent the ferrule from breaking, it would seem to me that they must had some of these wood ferrules broke on them before.
I like the ferrule on the Tiger shaft, it is strong, and clean. I also like the idea that the company allows me, as a customer, to decide if I want to put a pad between my tip and my ferrule, knowing that each and every player may have a different preference.
If pro endorsement means anything to you,, I have seen a lot of pro players using the X shaft, but not yet seen anyone with the OB 1 except Dee Adkin. But then, OB 1 is a small company and is still new.
The above is just my own personal opinion. I have tried both shafts, and have known players who play with them. I have heard great things about both products.

Shane Van Boening obviously doesn't play with an OB-1!
lol i thought you were unaware that he played with one so i just pointed it out. although i was just going by the obcues website. i suppose they're in no hurry to remove a well known player who no longer seems to use their shaft all the time

The z-2 is ok, but it too feels odd, and doesnt produce the spin for me the ob-1 does. My best feeling shafts are my originial schon shafts. Ive never tried the tiger.....i was planning on it, but after picking up these 2 I just didnt see the point, ive got like 6 shafts for my schon already lol.
