Tightening predator weight bolt

Sounds like the weight bolt in my predator is a bit loose. Just wondering what to use to tighten it without having to buy the weight kit.

Looks like there are two round holes.

I've done it with two philips a rew drivers

Put 2 allen wrenches in it and put a screwdriver between them and turn. Works very good if you hold your mouth right LOL Just kidding. It does work.

This thread gave me enough inspiration to make myself a tool for adjusting the weight on my BK and my girlfriends Predator sport ice.
If interested in the dimension for it, reach out to me via PM and I'll share.

Works like a dream, and took me a whole 20 minutes to do at home

I want to know how the heck you guys take off the bumper from the Predator cue with the uni-loc weight system, is it possible to do by hand, I tried but it wont come out, I don't want to force too much to tear/break it.

I sold my predator because of the price gouging on the weight bolt system. I will never buy another predator cue !

Worked great, just can't show the wife what the fork looks like now lol

It was sacrificed to a just cause.

The rubber bumper screws out.

My Pred Sneaky has an allen head bolt. I've never had it out to see if it has a weight bolt.

The weight bolt system is the thing I like the most about them.
You can buy an 18 oz cue and make it weigh almost anything
from 18 oz to 20 oz!!!
No other cue can do this.
Really an excellent way for people who are starting out and learning
what works for them in terms of weight.
Certainly a whole heck of a lot cheaper than buying 30 cues that weigh
anything from 18 to 20 oz. All that for under 70 bucks. I call it a bargain.

Mine just twisted out. It did take a bit of force. I don't know if they are all made the same though as this is my first one

Thanks didn't think they can be screwed out, I was trying to pull it straight out
Will try it tonight.

I re-purposed a two prong fork from a Shellfish utensil set for this task. The weight bolt on my BK-3 backs out half a turn and starts to rattle occasionally. I may try using some low strength, purple loctite on the threads to prevent it from re-occurring next time it happens.

If you can find them locally. Take out the weight bolt and run a 5/8x18 tap down there and convert it to standard. It's that close in size.

Loctite purple (222) is not a good solution for this. It relies upon the presence of copper (in virtually all metals) and absence of air to set, so while it may set on the screw, I expect it would not set well, if at all, on the wood.

Loctite threadlockers are also not good to have on most plastics.
