Tightening predator weight bolt

If it is that close, is there a chance that it is actually an M16 screw?

I put it in one of my old threads. I always have to go look when I need the exact size. I made an extension for the bottom of a Predator and the customer said he was not going to change the weight so I made a wooden plug 5/8x18 and threaded it right in and glued it. Hollowed out thebumber and used a 3/8x16 aluminum screw to go thru the bumber and into the plug. Extensions are nice I think. But removing / installing the bumber is a pain in the ass.

This thread gave me enough inspiration to make myself a tool for adjusting the weight on my BK and my girlfriends Predator sport ice.
If interested in the dimension for it, reach out to me via PM and I'll share.

Works like a dream, and took me a whole 20 minutes to do at home

hi kimmo, I love this tool you built, please let me know what to look for when i goto home depot. Thank you, Hooz

I'm confused. Every cue I've ever owned can do this with different length weight bolts including the old predators.

Same situation with a Pred I bought a few years ago. Took off the bumper and went WTF ? Googled and figured I would snag a wrench $10....haha not. I just grabbed a few hexes as mentioned and out they came. $79 kit pass.

Sorry to tell you but that is not something you can pick up at home depot :frown: I used a lathe, a milling machine and a TIG welder to make mine.
A simplest way to make one like that requires atleast a bench drill, some steel rod for the "shaft" and some 4mm in diameter bolts.

You can use 2 hex keys stuck uo there and turn those wtih a screwdriver but I like tool for changing bolts, it is fast and easy

Predator Weight Removal Tool

I know this thread is really old, but I found it today while trying to figure out how to tighten someone's weight in their Predator IKON cue.

I used the two Allen wrench method to get it some what tight. Later in the day a buddy stopped by that has some of the tamper resistant bits. All his bits were too small. Another friend suggested looking in my Wheeler Gunsmith bit set. And there it was! Bit #777-831 Weaver/Ruger Scope Ring Clamp Bit fit perfectly.

I found this website that sells them for $2.00 each.

I sold my predator because of the price gouging on the weight bolt system. I will never buy another predator cue !

It’s like $60 lol cue makers charge more then that for a couple plain joint protectors.

I only bought it because I couldn’t get the bolt tightened with any other tool. It would seem tight but a few days later it would come loose again.
