is there a system to predict the tracts the cue ball will take after a tikki
based on where the second ball is so i can get to a 3rd ball?
and how spin affects it??
my 2 crude examples (guestamites) with the 2nd ball 1 diamond and 2 diamonds from the corner
each hit with no spin and extreme spin
with 12 o'clock hit other with 3 o'clock (ball one diamond from corner) or 9 o'clock (ball 2 diamonds from corner hit
sorry for the pic on a pool table its the only shot diagram program i could find...:embarrassed2:
actually any advice on tikki shots is appreciated

hi
to make it short, not really IMHO, no reliable system where spin is highly varied for those one rail kick+2 when the OB1 is near the rail ...it's more a typicall 5 pins or 1 cushion discipline pattern than a 3 cushion pattern .
may be 5 pins/5 birilli players could help you , since they play much more "tikki" * especially with "reverse english"- than in the other games ? may be they have a kind of system for it. will have a look ...
an old master (RIP) from my club played them exceptionnally good, and each time someone asked him what's his trick for them , he always aswered : "easy : all you have to do to master them is to practice them" :D . not really "player-friendly", but it was a part of his personnality .. hehe... so are some masters :) .

Yes they have to be practices but for starters with a typical hit say 1/4 ball and standard running English (10:00 , 2:00) the cue ball will tend to roll over its original position.

Start with this and then experiment.

Here's one that just came up on FB

thanks alot for the reply.....
what did you mean by the bolded part above since your cue ball tract did not go over its original position???

btw
you diagrams are just what i am asking .....
being able to predict and control where the cue ball goes after the tikki

What I mean is the CB will return to its origin. Even in the diagram you can see that all 3 shots, if the lines continued, the CB would roll close if not exactly over the spot it started from.

now i got it......
thanks

Don't want to spoil anybody's fun, but if you change the distance between the yellow ball and the rail by 1 single millimeter, you will change the outcome of the shot by 10 or 15 centimeters. There is no "system" for ticky shots. Period.

bert
how did you calculate a 10-15 centimeter change for each millimeter change in the yellow ball
if you dont have some guide or said another way system for predicting the the path of the cue ball?????????

tikki ?

There is no substitute for experience! Practice, then you'll be more comfortable with each different angle, you'll visualize them~!

i agree with the bolded statement
i dont want this to be a thread about whether systems are...good.....useful.....bad.....play by feel not by numbers......etc....
all i want to know is there a system for tikkis like there is a plus 2 system/corner 5 system.
3kushn was very helpfull to me in answering my question and i got a pm with excellent advice also
just wonder if any one else has a system for guidelines in predicting where the cue ball will go after the tikki
thanks in advance for any ones help....:)
