Tim Scruggs cue

A friend just inherited a pool cue and was looking for information about it. Any information or insight would be greatly appreciated. It appears to be a Tim Scruggs. Is there any simple way to tell if it’s a fake. Also maybe an approximate value if anyone knows. It appears to have been used as a daily player and the clear coat has a couple of defects( see pics). Thank you in advance for any information or advice you may have.

Scruggs basic merry-widow. Great cue. I wouldn't touch it. Just enjoy using it. As it is probably worth around a grand. If it was in like-new cond. probably 15-1600.

That is the old school TS that was done with a stamp.

Nice cue. I picked up one about 10 years ago for 300 dollars. Ended up selling it last year for around 1200 with two shafts.
