Tim Scruggs FS

I'm selling this for a friend of mine. Near Mint condition Tim Scruggs with Ivory Ferrules. 4-points into a Bird's Eye forearm. One small ding near the butt cap that wouldn't show on pictures, that's it. No other visible/feelable damage other than blue chalk on tips from a few hits. I can't tell what the points are, or how many veneers, I'd say 3 thick ones, but my camera sucks. He's asking $2400, no trades as far as I know. I also heard a rumor Tim was retiring (again). I don't know if it's true but if it is, this cue might be hard to come by in the future.

Any questions you can e-mail me or call me. My cell phone is listed in my sig, and my e-mail is DetroitIron@gmail.com. Upfront I'll say I don't know how flexible he is on price, all I can do is ask him and he'll either say yes or no.

He said he's willing to go to $2100 shipped. After a bit of research, it looks like his initial asking price was too high, but $2100 seems reasonable to me. I've seen a few on eBay and such for less, but I can't feel/see/touch and find any imperfections on those. I've looked this cue over, and that dent is the only imperfection, not even a scratch on the ferrule, but it's not an urgent sell, so I guess nobody would really want this at this time...

its not that no one wants it, there are 2 other scruggs cues for sale with 3 shafts for 1250 and 1500 respectively. so ppl probably dont wanna pay 2100 in this situation.

Very sweet cue!

It sells for $2,000.00 new though. I could be wrong. It may be $50.00 higher. It is nice of you to sell it for your friend. Also that may be a 1 of 1 cue with a but sleeve and cap like that.
Also you may want to think about adding shaft and butt weights and ferrel sizes to your description.
Good luck with a very sharp cue!
Nick :)

Thanks Nick. I suppose the other Scruggs for sale that are cheaper might be a better buy at this time, but you pay for what you want. I think it did sell for about $2000 or something new, but there's supposedly like a 2 year waiting list. That's if you can get on it. If Tim doesn't decide to "retire" again. I personally don't know too much about the different cuemakers and such, so information I have has to be taken with a grain of salt. Actual tangible info, such as weight and such, I can try to provide once I see him again. He usually plays my tournaments and has it in his case just in case he meets a buyer. I think it was 19oz with a standard 13mm tip.

Dank has a point here.4 point veneered TS cues are for sale all over the place for $1000-$1500.that is why you are not having any luck selling it.

i just recieved one after 5 months. its a 4 point 4 veneer with 20 inlays. not that its not worth it, but for a little more you can design one to your own liking. personally, i wouldnt sell mine, even for a nice profit.

I have to agree

I don't sell them cheap. $1700.00 for this cue would be cheap. Timi gets a premium for his cues and we are willing to pay to have a new Scruggs cue. It is hard to get what Timi will deliver one for unless it is new and unchalked.
Even then you have to hope you have the exact cue a potential buyer wants in wrap type, colors, weights, shaft sizes, balance point and joint type and material and even the woods used in the forearm and proings not to mention ring types and placements and inlays--Yikes!!
Because you can order the exact cue you want most people do just that. I believe most times it is hard to satisfy a buyer with a completed new cue and get the premium that Timi can.
Good luck
Nick
