Tim Scruggs sneaky pete

Pretty sure you are describing one like I have. It is in 99% condition as well. Wonder what it is worth?

These days, I have seen them at 800+ for great condition and 2 shafts.

Rare to see one at all go for less the 600 now.

I remember the TS sneakies being sold for $115 each and you could buy as many of them as you wanted.

LOL

Only if my stocks did that well.

Ken

Yepper, I bought one back in 89' for $110. The original shaft warped after about 15 years and I sold the butt for $250.
Solid hitting cues :)

i havent read all the replies
sorry
if you bought this as an investment
you have better choices
if you bought it for a player you did not pay enough...:)

Im sure it will appreciate in value if kept in great condition, since Scruggs no longer makes sneaky petes. As for the price, 450 isnt quite as bad as the 600 I almost spent last year on a Schick sneaky pete. Then I said to myself, "Why in the hell would you pay $600 for a sneaky pete"? So I walked off. Some of those guys at the DCC remind me of going to a car lot. Damned salesmen!!! LOL

I would much rather have a Schick sneaky. I had a few Scruggs sneaky cues in the past, and did not like them. Way too stiff of a hit I think.

Is there a way to tell? I see some with the delrin butt cap, while others just have TS stamped between the points.

You all realize that Bob Frey and John Stankowski (spelling?) made all these sneaky petes, right?

All the best,
WW

I am under the impression that Mike Cochran started making
the first sneaky petes in the 80's using shaft wood that wasn't
up to Tim's spec's for his custom cues.
Guess I'll have to check with Bob.
It's a good excuse to visit his shop again! lol
Thanks

That's the way I heard it.

But what are the odds that Scruggs himself made some sneakies early on? I mean, most cue makers do when starting out. Such a cue would have been made when he was at Joss or shortly after he left as I imagine. But really that's just a fantasy...as is the Cache of that TS logo on a sneaky IMHO.

If an Early Sneaky can be documented as having been made by him that would be something...bout at this point proving that would be difficult.

Besides that...a sneaky made by Cochran or Frey is nothing to sneeze at anyway. I think that mysteries will remain with these cues no matter what...
