It was my great pleasure early Thursday morning to ride shotgun with Shadowmoss to Baltimore to attend dinner hosted by Tim’s very good friend Jim McMullen at a fantastic local restaurant . We shared stories about Tim and his impact on others which spoke volumes about the generous nature of this humble man. Always great to see Cory Barnhart and Bob Frey who were among the 60+ people attending - there to celebrated the life of a very special person - one who will be greatly missed. What a wonderful way to remember Tim, a man I will always call my friend.

What a wonderful way to remember a friend and celebrate Tim's life with others that loved him as much as you did. I hope you took lots of photos and I'd make a collage board and send it to his family......maybe get everyone to sign it.........great gesture.

Thank You for posting this, Paul. I wish I was able to attend this wonderful event. Tim was all the things you say he was, and much more. Maybe you can share one or two of the stories you heard during this tribute.

Yes it was great gathering and I believe Tim was with is in spirit.I will post a few photos and details later. You gave a nice speech and I know it was very hard to hold your self together. As you saw I had to stop several times while speaking but in the end we all got our message to everyone.

Your Friend,

Bobby Chamberlain

Remembering tim scruggs

Thanks Bobby, I truly loved your story and yes, you held it together much better than I did. Tough for me to keep my composure when it comes to strong emotional feelings about someone we all came to love so much for adding a touch of class and humanity to our World. Hope everyone will visit your Facebook page and read what you wrote - it's very special !!

My best,
Paul

Paul here is what I wrote up on June 20th the morning Tim Passed away. It was very difficult. The year this story started was 1983 when I was 14 years old. I will post pictures of the cue and also from the gathering Monday or Tuesday.

Yesterday was just one of the saddest days of my life.I got a call letting me know that Tim Scruggs passed away. Most people knew Tim as one of the greatest custom cue makers in the world.I knew Tim as a Father figure since I was 13 years old.
Tim would always check on me to make sure I stayed away from trouble. So many great memories over the years Tim taught me how to repair and make pool cues.Tim always told me never to trust gamblers and beware of alot of pool players.Tim always told me when buying pool cues try to buy 1 of a kind cues and anything with a great story as it helps the value of my investment.
One weekend I stopped by his shop in the old barn and on his pool table was a very fancy pool cue.I picked it up while he wasn't looking and I seemed to never miss a shot.Tim walked over and said now Bobby put that cue down now as its the 1st pool cue I ever made.I said Yes sir Mr.Scruggs.Tim said to me how old are you now and I told him 14 years old and Tim said remind me 14 years from now and as long as you haven't got in any trouble this cue will be yours.I couldn't wait and never mentioned it to him but when I turned 28 I didn't have to remind him and Tim showed up at a Tournament I was playing in and he said Bobby I want you to have something and he handed me the cue.I still have the cue and will be playing with it for a while in his honor.
Tim taught me great values in life and like many others I could never repay him for all he did for me.I love you Tim and look forward to seeing you again in Heaven.

Tim was one of my closest friends.A great person, kind and very generous. We went to movies every Friday night for30 years. We eat diner first and after the movies went to poolrooms. He always called me CatBird, and always said It's your world Daddy,I'm just here on vocation. At the dinner I spoke about how generous Tim was and closed with saying we're all going on vocation one day and we're all going to be with Tim. Miss you CATBIRD. Jim McMullen did a great job setting the tribute up. Thanks Jim for being there when Timmy needed you. Jim is a wonderful person and was a true friend to Timmy. Also I have to mention Vince Shifflet because he ran to always take Tim to the Doctors and Hospitals. Thankyou, Vince, R.I.P. Timmy Boy I'll never forget you.

Eddie your a good man. Im happy to call you a friend. Tim really enjoyed all the time you catbirds spent together and im sure there are tons of stories just try to remember all the great memories. Thanks for leading off with the speaking and Jim was wrong as you got done speaking in less than 20 minutes. I agree that Jim did a great job and I believe everything was handled as Tim wanted.

The dinner was an amazing way to honor Tim Scruggs.
Very nicely done, that's the way to do it.
