Hi,
Just wondering if anybody has tried his cue and what they thought about it? Also, I noticed that he uses different types of pin and how much difference it made with the cues hit and playability? Thanx in advance. :D

Tim Is a good friend and builds a nice hitting cue. Tim is a new member of our organization, CUEMASTERS.ORG

Mr. Scruggs offers different pins such as, 3/8 X 10 and Radial pins
on flat faced cues and 5/16's X 14 on his stainless joints. This makes him very versatile in marketing. All three styles play very well.

scruggs is a REALLY REALLY nice guy.

i was looking for some old yellow micarta to put on an 80's southwest, and anyone who had some was selling them for like $90 for a plug. scruggs had read my post and emailed me that he would send me two leftover plugs for free.

what other cuemaker would ever do this for someone he didn't know?

Thank you all for posting your input. I guess I have to give it some thought on what joint to order. Thanx again

I have owned and played with several Scruggs and all of them have been flawless in workmanship and incredible in feel and hit. I would highly reccomend a Tim Scruggs cue to anyone.

IMO...Tip,Balance, weight and taper are far more important characteristics than the joint configuration

Luckily, Tim lives near us so we were able to go visit ask questions, feel his cues and he was very patient with my questions.

I just got my Scruggs cue yesterday. I cannot even describe how it felt. I have never felt anything like it in my life. It is beautiful too.

After using production cues for a year, this is perfect. Layani (another cue guy) told me the cue should feel like part of your arm. I did not know what he meant then, having never experienced this, but now I know.

How much can you say about perfection?

Hello,

I have two of Tim's cues. While I agree that the joint configuration is only part of the package, it can sometimes be an important part.

One of my cues has an ivory joint (better for me in games where I need more finesse). The other cue has a stainless joint (better for me in games which demand more powering of the cue ball around).

Both cues hit very solid and I can recommend either to a fellow player.

As far as construction, He and Mike take great care in implementing your requests into the design if you would like. They will also work something out for you if you are not sure what you would like. I know this is not much more than what the others have said but hope it helps in some way.

Good Luck, Jerry

Tim Scruggs will make you a cue with just about any joint/pin you want, and they will all hit great.
His cues are also among the best balanced cues you will ever find.

Tim is truely one of the best cue makers of our time and he is great to work with. :D

I used my Scruggs sneaky pete for almost three years and loved it. Just bought a local custom just for asthetics. Had to give it back to the maker so he could size down one of my shafts. Pulled out the Scruggs and forogt how great they hit. Helped me win two bar tourneys this weekend. Guess I should keep playing with it instead. I highly reccommend his cues. Super solid.

I have a newer Scruggs 4 point Hoppe style cue with a radial pin with a leather wrap. The points are absolutely perfect, razor sharp, and gorgeous. In fact, everything about the cue is perfect. I can say it is an awesome playing cue - the best I've ever owned.

As far as a cuemaker, Tim Scruggs is one of the all time greats. All you have to do is play with one for awhile to understand just how great.

I don't know how he does it. I just know he does it.

Chris

You said it better than I could. Mine is cocobola with brown leather wrap and four cocobola points on birds eye maple. The joint he used is also classy looking.
