Jazz and apparently some other AZBilliards Members do not like it when ANY AZ Billiard Member points out that their is a SLEEPER ITEM (overlooked), or some item that is apparently a REAL DEAL on E-bay.

I personally see NO HARM in pointing, or make aware fellow forum member towards a DEAL.

I also know that I am not the only one who has ever posted a notice that a Cue, Case, or item is on the Bay, and is a sleeper, or apparently a deal.

So now the big question is???

Yeah, I was first....

I thought others had voted, but was amused to see I was the first to vote, and that was for Saddam being hung.

AZ Billiards is AZ, and has nothing to do with ebay. ebay is a another site to list items for sale or buy an item. These two sites really should have nothing to with each other. Posts about ebay on AZ, most times are negitive and a destraction to looking for a cue or other type of item to buy on AZ. One site should have nothing to do with the other. Post concerning ebay should be removed from AZ!

How about a prize for the person who can tell us exactly how many grammatical mistakes are in this poll ?? you'd do 'cornerstone' proud.....:)

I don't see a problem with it. Unless of course I were bidding on the "sleeper" and lost out on a deal due to a post!:p

I disagree, although most post about ebay are negative you might come across a nice cue or a good deal with out spending hours looking for it. After all there's a ton of crap to trudge through before you find that "sleeper".

Az'ers sharing info about EBAY items has ,IMHO, has a greater upside than downside. Ie; market value, authenticity, scams, etc.

The only downside is when I'm trying to "heist" something----->lol

I personally have found out about several cues that I had interest in that I would never have found out about otherwise by searching ebay. many people don't list their cues very well, and you might have to search specifically for that cuemaker's name. I bought a Rambow a couple of years ago that was listed as a "vintage Bob Haddad". Didn't know until I clicked on the auction and saw the signature that it was a Rambow. The auction still went for $1475. I think the only time people get irritated is when they miss out on a "Steal" because others find out about it and outbid them.
What I don't like is those who post a cue for sale in this forum and put the link to their ebay auction instead of posting pics and their asking price. I don't even bother looking at those.

I don't think items listed on eBay should be posted on AZ. If someone is looking for a certain case/cue or a bargain, let them do their own eBay search. IOW, there are thousands of cues listed everyday on eBay. If this forum allows some of them to be advertised here, where does it stop? JMO.

I agree, as I have posted many times about things I thought, but didn't really know, to be a scam, real, etc. Now I don't think I will post anything anymore after reading how many feel. So to MAYBE get a deal, many are willing to forgo alerts, or possible alerts, then that's ok with me.

ya see.. those sleeper items you like to tell everybody about, once they are posted here.. they NO LONGER become sleeper items.. and they get more publicity here then on ebay iteself....

i like seeing possible fraud auctions.. gives everybody the knowledge that its fake.. and i like when people post funny auctions..

the only thing it seems posting somebody elses sleeper item does is make everybody else mad that is already watching it.. and it seems to cause more drama here on the forum.. nobody here owes anybody on ebay any favors.. and believe me.. if you think its a sleeper item.. there is probably already 30+ azers already watching it...

I agree. The sharing of info would seem to be a good thing as not everyone can sit in front of a computer just looking for that "oh my gaud, I just saved $28.00 off market value for a freaking cue stick" deal.

And I wonder, are those grammatically perfect specimens envious or is it just professional jealousy?

Would you bid on the item then tell everyone about the deal you found ?

ONLY IF YOU GOT ROCKS IN YOUR HEAD !!!

Why would someone want to post about something that they are not even interested in buying themslves ? Posting a sleeper totally defeats the purpose of getting a good deal.

Well, that's not really the point, and just how many times do you think that ever happens. How many posts have been posted lately about how deals on ebay are a disappearing breed. That there are no more sweet deals on ebay.

No what this will do will make people stop from posting ANYTHING about items on ebay for fear of getting jumped on by someone who MIGHT have a bid on it.

I always considered this a forum with members who shared a common interest and that interest was maybe a little more important than getting a good deal twice a year (if you're lucky). To me this smacks of people who want to make a steal from someone who doesn't know what they have, and they don't want anyone else to steal it from them before they can steal it.

pole

i think the only choices in the poll should be the first 2. add up the i don't like them and the az should remove them. doesn't seem like a very realistic poll, very cloudy.

Jeff, as you know, I'm with feldz on his opinion.

I don't what some of us are saying is that ANYTHING about eBay items is inappropriate. If it's scam (or potential), or someone wants to know about the seller/cue or have any interest in the particular listing, then ask on the forum.

What I don't understand is why post something like "here's Justis case of eBay" or "look at this so and so's cue" listing on eBay where the poster has no interest/knowledge of the seller or the cue and is only providing free exposure to the seller and the listing.

I don't believe you will agree with me but I hope it's ok we can agree to disagree.

Oh yeah

Hell yea of course lets watch them hang that sorry ass on live TV. I think everyone deserves to get to see him hung JMHO. :D :D :D

" love hearing about sleeper items, or maybe deal on e-bay" appears to be the leader, and could get elected to Congress....

i hate it personally.

it hurts me as a buyer/seller pretty bad.

i supplement my income by buying and selling cues.

before the internet, TONS of money could be made doing this.

NOW, it's 5x harder to make a buck.
