This is a Billiard forum, so I think it should be fair to share ANY information. If you are looking for that steal, which after trying to sell my cues on here 99% of you ARE....then SORRY. If you're not making enough money, then get a new job.

When I'm on the Z06 forum and there's a nice low miles or extremely modded Z06 on Ebay, members will post it. No one gets upset about it, because they figure someone might be in the market to buy a car for themselves.

I didn't know this was a forum for dealers and Hustlers.....

So with that being said, I Do NOT care what anyone says. If it's truly worth a look, then post it. ALSO, since I did list my cues several times, when I put them on EBAY, I will start a thread saying they are on EBAY.

i think people do it just to help potential buyers on this site to be nice. i even think it helps a cues value out as a whole. the more exposure a desirable item gets the potential of that item selling for more in the future is increased which helps out the seller ot the item, the buyers on a premise for desirability and possible future sale value, anyone else who might be thinking of selling or one that just might want to know current market value on an item they've collected . of course the reverse happens for an item not so desirable also. everyone who sells cues for a living is always on the lookout for that "bonanza" deal but on the flip side there are many more who want a chance at just getting that item before the "retailers" get the chance to sell it at "their" value. i guess all's fair in love and pool cues. ;) this is in no way a slight to resellers but just my thoughts towards the evolution of selling cues for a living since the conception of ebay. i think it's becoming a more "new cue" market for the dealer as opposed to a "used" one. imo dealers are going to have to find makers to supply their stock for resale more so than rely on the used desirable cues that one might have easily found in the past. as far as the resellers who "survive" on these type deals they may need to find new "angles" at which obtain these dwindling deals to sustain their livelihood since ebay is fast evolving past the "sleeper deal" windfall.

I don't think this forum gives anyone the right to get in the middle of a business deal that they have no interest in. It's simply common courtesy. Have you ever been right in the middle of a deal and had a kibitzer get involved? I hate when people think they have the God given right to make ignorant comments in a deal that they have no intention of really becoming involved in.

If the people that feel they need to show everyone the great "sleeper deals" and they are really deals, why aren't they taking advantage of these themselves? Under funded? Trust me, if a deal's that good (Balabushka for $2,000, etc.) I'll find a way to get funded! Scared to "pull the trigger" on a good deal? You've got no business getting involved... Don't really know what the Hell you're talking about? Just want to make the forum folks believe you're an expert (even though you don't have the cajones to go for the deal yourself)? Or, simply, because ya just have way too much time on your hands???

If you have a cue for sale, you have the right to get involved. If you have some questions for the forum members, because you do have an interest in buying, or would like to learn whether that cue is a gem, you have a right to get involved. If you have no plans on being a part of the deal, then I think you should keep it that way...

Regards,

Steve

before the internet, TONS of money could be made doing this.

NOW, it's 5x harder to make a buck.

And one heck of a lot of folks make a Great First or Second Income off e-bay. Going to Garage & Estate Sales buying CHEAP, and SELLING HIGH.

well 2, 3 and 5 are all negatives choices and adds up to 25 currently, vs 20 for those in favor.

The poll is a joke, get real and put up a real poll. WTF cares about all the other garbage listed. There should only be two; either you like it or don't.

Besides, the person who posts such is never interested. If you were you would have bid on it yourself and kept it a secret. BTW it is no longer a deal once posted, doesn't take any brains to figgure that one out.

Ehh I disagree. If you were looking to mod the Vette with a Lingerfelter (sp?) one of custom intake. Found one on ebay listed by some bimbo divorcing her hubby with no reserve, she spelled it wrong like me, were about to "steal it for $100 and some snapper head on the board goes Hey look at this :mad: you might be angry. I also dont considered it stealing. The seller should do thier homework.

Who gives.. but whats funny...

is I see certain "collectors" point out "other" cues.. but when a cue they are interested in is on.. whoa boy.. no peep from them on how great a steal they are trying to get.. lol :D

All of a sudden, they ain't so informative.

5-8 years ago... there was an abundance of steals on ebay.. now its more luck and timing than anything.

If I spent hours on ebay and found a great deal only to have someone stumble on it and post it on here when they had no intention on bidding, I would not be happy. All you did was jack up the price on another member.

Couple of examples. Would you do these?

1. If you were at a garage sale and saw a cue that was underpriced and someone was trying to buy it would you start calling all the pool halls in the area and tell everyone about it? Would you be pissed if you were the buyer?

2. If you spent hours researching horse racing and found a "sure thing" with longshot odds, would you go out and tell 1,000 people about it so they could bet on it and lower your odds? say it goes from 40 to 1 to 2 to 1? How would you feel if you spent the time and someone that had no intention of betting told everyone about it?

You see it all the time where some pawn shop or individual has a nice cue up for sale and has it totally misslabeled. The way I look at it, it would be their own fault if they only got $50 for it because they didn't feel like researching to find out what they had. If you post it on here then you are just rewarding them for being lazy. A while back there was one that had a black boar just listed as a B&B and they had no idea what it was. Not to point any fingers but someone posted it on here. I don't think it is fair if someone actually spent the time to look for a deal and then have some jacka** like myself see it posted on here and then outbid them. If they want to do the digging, they should get the reward.

For all the fraud alert posters:

If I was thinking about buying a cue and saw a fraud alert then I would be very happy. The fraud alerts also help many people that are not real experienced with buying cues or with ebay to learn what to look out for. Thank you to everyone that posts these alerts.

Not really. You should be adding a few of the other ones together.

Love to hear = 23

Hate = 9
Remove = 6
Hate when buying = 12
TOTAL = 27

If you want to make a biased poll and skew the results it is usually not that tough. Hell, you could make Hilter look like a great leader if you worded the poll correctly, but give only two choices, Good Leader or Bad Leader, and I think you know what the results will be.

With these poll writing skills maybe you should go to work for one of the political parties. They always like to rig the deck in their polls.

exactly.

if someone finds it, and wants to bid on it, they ain't coming to AZ to say "look at the monster deal here guys!".

so who comes to AZ to post these deals?.........the guy who AIN'T buying it, that's who.

ebay is public.

no one is trying to hide anything.

let them do the homework and digging like i have to.

i wanted to be like trump when i grew up, not tom brokaw.
