Hello, im trying to find how people get hardness ratings for tips is there a machine that does this ? Lets say an Elk Masters tip has a rating around 60.1 now i want to turn it into an Milk Dud how would i figure out the new hardness rating for the milk dud ?

Thanks.....

Properly testing the hardness of a tip, I would like to share a little info, hope it

is helpful.

Consistency in your measurements is the key. I see someone stated using a durometer, which is a key component. But, I had to also get a test stand and used a standard weight when testing. For instance on the Tyoe A testers, I use a 1KG weight, or about 2.5 lbs, on the Durometer type "D" I use a 5KG weight. The weight is used to press on the testing item, but it is consistant and not just using the weight of the testing machine,

Any other question, please pm me or e-mail me @ michaelkennedy_1@yahoo.com

Take care

Good luck
