Sorry I can't help you with Ft.Myers/Cape Coral area, but if you have some time and are driving down, you could stop in Palm Harbor on your way.

Go to Strokers (northeast of the intersection of US19 and Curlew Rd) and ask for Rolando. He works the front door and has a small lathe right there... He does exceptional tip and re-wrap work. He works in the evenings and doesn't usually get there until the late afternoon.
